Batman Unauthorized: Vigilantes, Jokers, and Heroes in Gotham City by Dennis O'Neil
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Different views of Batman, since his first apparition on Detectve Comics from the pen (pencils) of Bob Kane till now. Experts talk of the differences between the first Batman and, mostly, Miller's Batman (Return of the Dark Knight). All the different Robin: Dick Grayson (who has his own comics right now and it's not so bad), the life, death and resurrection of Jason Todd and the actual Tim Drake. The father figures in Batman's life like Alfred, Commissioner Gordon and Ra's Al Ghul, who even stole the coffins of Bruce Wayne's parents. There is even a diagnosis following the DSM-IV and we have our vigilante declared an antisocial personality with a PTSD. What is missed are mostly his realtionships with women: Catwoman, Poison Ivy and Talia of course, who will give him Damian, Batman of the future. If you love Batman this is the book for you.

The Food Activist Handbook: Big & Small Things You Can Do to Help Provide Fresh, Healthy Food for Your Community by Ali Berlow

The Food Activist Handbook: Big & Small Things You Can Do to Help Provide Fresh, Healthy Food for Your Community by Ali Berlow

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Luckily, many of the problems that plague Americans concerning the food, here in Europe are not so big, but we can only hope that it will always be like that because it is clear that the money rules anywhere. Interesting book and full of good ideas that can be both easy or difficult to implement, but still they cover the vast field of food from beginning to end, and even if we can not put into practice everything, also start from somewhere, perhaps the simplest, it would not hurt.

Develop Your Medical Intuition: Activate Your Natural Wisdom for Optimum Health & Well-Being by Sherrie Dillard

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

At one point, I was about half the book, I stopped reading because I'm not able to understand a certain kind of statement, made by the author, that concerned as possibly that my intuition, helped by some unspecified divine help, would allow me to help others understand what ailed them.

I liked this series that ends with this book, "The Duke's men" was funny and entertaining and also Dom had his special book, because he really earned it in the end. Let's wait for the next series then, that as far as I know involves Yvette and his brother.

The Elementary Sherlock Holmes: Things You Didn't Know About Literature's Greatest Detective by Matthew Bunson

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

For the lovers of Sherlock Holmes, a nice summa theologica that goes from the most ignored part of the books to the BBC Adaptation. Best actor, best dialogue between Sherlock and Watson, best theories about Moriarty and so on. You cannot be a novice anyway, a former knowledge about the stories in which the literature's greatest detective is involved is absolutely necessary.

Beautiful manga, I didn't the same slightly negative impression of "Pride and Prejudice" where all the characters seemed Lady Oscar to med. Here the illustrations are much less "manga" and the story is very well conveyed. I certainly hope that those who read this manga, will later read the book, which is a masterpiece.

The Morning and the Evening: A Novel by Joan Williams

The Morning and the Evening: A Novel by Joan Williams

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This story tells the life of Jake, whose life in the southern United States is not an easy one, he is considered an idiot and after the death of the mother is also hospitalized. The author still has the ability to tell a story without getting too dramatic or emphasize sad things, as it seems to us that all things considered, at least at times, Jake is also happy. However, even if it is beautiful written, the story is tragic and heartbreaking.

The Wintering: A Novel by Joan Williams

The Wintering: A Novel by Joan Williams

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The story of this young woman, who met and learns to love her favorite author, more than 30 years older than she and already married, it is a story with an ending already written. Despite this, however, the author recounts their meetings the evolution of their relationship with a lot of delicacy, and knowing that the novel is based, at least in part, on the relationship of the writer with Faulkner, makes it even more believable.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I admit that I expected a science fiction story, I mean, we're talking about Aldiss here, but instead I found myself re-reading Sophocles and to be precise the "Oedipus the King" and "Antigone", the fact is that no matter how different these two stories from the original version are, they are just beautiful and even if he made some change, especially the end of Antigone, this book is absolutely a must read.

Pretty strange comics, a perfect mix between a manga and a super hero comic from the '60. I couldn't stop laughing at the name chosen for the super villains anyway and there's more than a bromance between batman and Robin ;) An "interesting" reading but it's only for Batman's super fan.

Cursed by Fire by Jacquelyn Frank

My rating: 1 of 5 stars

There must be some problem between me and Jacquelyn Frank, because the whole world loves her and I find her books more and more boring. This is yet another series that I start writing toby her and once again I have the absolute certainty that I will not continue it. Since she is one of the most popular writers in the paranormal romance world, it is clear that the problem is mine, but again the book for me was so boring and the idea that there are three other brothers to read about scares me .....

Some graffiti are very interesting and beautiful, but mostly there are names written on the walls with funny fonts and more or less details, however, what emerges is a truly spooky Detroit and graffiti just make it slightly less gloomy.
