A wonderful recollection of childhood memories from a kid that will become Natzume Soseki's student. The life of a child in Japan before the first world war, so beautifully written that even the cruelest moment seem to be happy.
Una meravigliosa raccolta di ricordi d'infanzia di quello che diventerá poi uno studente di Natzume Soseki. La vita di un bambino in Giappone prima della Prima guerra Mondiale, scritto cosí bene che anche i momenti piú crudeli sembrano ammantati di magia.

Le stelline originarie, se solo mi basassi sulla trama e sulla scrittura sarebbero tre, ma siccome l'autrice ambienta il tutto in Giappone, che é anche la ragione principe per cui io la leggo su internet e cartacea, arriviamo a quattro. Anche in questo caso quello che piú mi "dispiace" é la trama cosí ampiamente stereotipata che secondo me nuoce al libro stesso, ma non posso dire altro per non spoilerare; un vero peccato comunque, quasi un'occasione persa, perché secondo me i due personaggi principali avrebbero potuto funzionare benissimo insieme anche se non....

I started out with the best of intentions, then got stuck almost immediately, the story proceeding slowly in a series of uninteresting subplots whose characters I didn't even particularly like. Maybe it wasn't the right time so I skipped hundreds of pages to get to read an ending that clearly didn't make sense to me. Maybe one day I'll start again, but I don't know....
Ho iniziato con le migliori intenzioni, poi mi sono arenata quasi subito, la storia proseguiva lenta in una serie di sottotrame poco interessanti, i cui personaggi non mi stavano nemmeno particolarmente simpatici. Forse non era il momento adatto quindi ho saltato centinaia di pagine per arrivare a leggere un finale che per me, chiaramente non aveva senso. Magari un giorno ricomincio, ma non so....

This is a good and interesting book, well written and full of tips, my only disappointment is that I was expecting something to make my process of learning easier instead the book is mostly about making the learning process easier for other people. Of course it helps the trainer also but still... Anyway most of the suggestion involve neuroscience but at a level that it's easy to understand and to apply and so this can be a very good book to start if you are interested in the topic.
Questo é un buon manuale, ben scritto e pieno di suggerimenti, peccato che io mi aspettassi un libro che aiutasse me ad imparare piú facilmente, invece ha a che fare con la modalitá per rendere il processo di apprendimento altrui piú immediato. Naturalmente molti suggerimenti sono utili anche per il trainer, peró...Comunque la maggior parte delle facilitazioni prevede l'utilizzo delle neuroscienze, ma ad un livello pratico e facile da capire, quindi questo puó essere un buon libro se l'argomento vi interessa, ma non lo conoscete ancora abbastanza bene.

The idea was really good but in a way the book looses itself on the way. Too many words, too many stories intertwined, and in the end what really mattered (to me of course) was not what I got. I didn't even liked most of the main characters so much, and the one I loved didn't last enough....
L'idea credo fosse veramente buona, ma il libro si perde per strada. Troppe parole, troppe storie intrecciate e alla fine, quello che ho letto non é stato quello che mi importava sapere. Inoltre non mi piacevano nemmeno la maggior parte dei personaggi e l'unico che mi piaceva non é nemmeno durato tanto....

It was a nice book. I love Lisbeth Salander and I missed her so it was good having her back, even because there are two of them now, so I think the next 2 books in this new trilogy are going to be good also.
Un buon libro, non eccezionale, ma siccome Lisbeth Salander mi piace molto sono stata contenta che abbiano scritto ancora libri con lei, anche perchè ora che ce ne sono due i prossimi libri della trilogia non saranno male, credo.

Dritte und letzte Buch in der Trilogie, schleppt sich dies Silber bis zum Ende, als ob der Autor verpflichtet, eine dritte Bandzu schreiben, wusste nicht, wie um sie zu füllen. Liv, Harry Grayson, Jasper, usw. Es gibt immer alles und Dinge haben sich, seitdem Annabel hat seinen ersten Auftritt der letzten Seiten des zweiten Buches machte, wenig verändert. Arthur ist es nun den Bösewicht, aber es ist nur ihn oder wandert wirklich eine babylonische Dämon in der Halle Tür der Träume? Sagen wir einfach, dass ich glücklich bin, um die Trilogie beendet haben, aber an diesem Punkt,aber wenn ich nicht einmal begonnen hätte, wäre ich auch sehr glücklich, diese 460 Seiten auf Deutsch haben mir zerstört.
Terzo e ultimo libro della trilogia, questo Silber si trascina stancamente fino alla fine, come se l'autrice obbligata a fare un terzo volume non sapesse come riempirlo. Liv, Harry, Grayson, Jasper, etc. ci sono sempre tutti e le cose sono cambiate poi poco da quando Annabel ha fatto la sua apparizione delle ultime pagine del secondo libro. Arthur ora si trova a fare la parte del cattivo, ma si tratta solo di lui o si aggira davvero un demone babilonese nel corridoio delle porte dei sogni? Diciamo pure che sono contenta di aver finito la trilogia, ma a questo punto se non l'avessi nemmeno cominciata sarei stata ancora piú felice, leggere queste 460 pagine in tedesco mi hanno fisicamente devastato.

Gardener's Son by Cormac McCarthy

I'm pretty sure that Cormac McCarthy, for his own good, should stop writing screenplays and keep on writing books. This is the second I read and I'm frankly disappointed, the story is terribly weak and I'm quite sure I'm not going to watch the movie. Problem is that I was so happy when I found this little book in Dussman's bargains....
Sono abbastanza sicura che, per il suo bene soprattutto, Cormac McCarhty dovrebbe smettere di scrivere copioni e continuare a scrivere libri. Questo é il secondo che leggo e sono veramente delusa, la storia é debolissima e sono quasi certa che non vedró mai il film. Inoltre la delusione é direttamente proporzionale al fatto che ero cosí contenta quando ho trovato questo piccolo libro nella scatola delle offerte di Dussman.....

Noioso e lunghissimo, Non sembrava nemmeno un romanzo d'amore, con i due protagonisti che passano dall'odio istantaneo all'amore istantaneo senza nessuna ragione apparente in entrambi i casi. Decisamente non il mio genere.

This is not the first book I've read in the Nom Nom series and I liked it as much as the first one, which was more innovative. As usual, the problem of the difference between U.S. and European weights and measures is solved by the conversion table at the end of the book, which you can not do without.
The photos are as usual extremely clear and follow the steps for the preparation one by one, practically even I who do not know where to start can feel very "safe".
Questo non é il primo libro che leggo dell serie Nom Nom e mi é piaciuto tanto quanto il primo, che peró era piú innovativo. Come la solito il problema della differenza tra pesi e misure statunitensi ed europei é colmato dalla tabella di conversione che si trova alla fine del libro e della quale non si puó proprio fare a meno.
Le foto sono come al solito estremamente chiare e seguono i passaggi per la preparazione uno per uno, praticamente anche io che non so da che parte cominciare mi posso sentire decisamente sicura.

I can appreciate the pedagogical intent and also place it in the context of the years in which it was written (before World War II), but if Miyazaki had not decided to make a movie out of it after such a long time that he did not draw anything, I doubt that anyone would have taken the trouble to republish it almost 100 years later.
Posso apprezzare l'intento pedagogico e anche inquadrarlo nel contesto degli anni in cui é stato scritto (prima della seconda guerra mondiale), ma se Miyazaki non avesse deciso di farci un film dopo tanto tempo che non disegnava nulla, dubito che qualcuno si sarebbe preso la briga di ripubblicarlo a quasi 100 anni di distanza.

I really appreciate this book, because it takes some courage to explain parents, especially some U.S. parents, why it's more useful to teach the kids to think with their own mind even rebelling to all the other people's expectations id it's necessary, instead of compelling our sons or daughters to obey with some sorts of reward/punishment system.
Questo libro mi é davvero piaciuto, specialmente perché ci vuole coraggio a spiegare ad alcuni genitori (magari anche americani) perché é piú utile insegnare ai propri figli a pensare con la propria testa, magari anche a costo di ribellarsi alle aspettative del resto del mondo, piuttosto che obbligarli ad ubbidire tramite qualche ben congeniato sistema di premi/punizioni.

Sorry to say that, because I have big expectations about this book but it's boring and repetitive and so bad written that even a person not English speaking as a mother tongue like me notice that.... Pity, I was wondering about the big saga of Goodkind, but I can imagine I can watch the tv series...
Spiace dirlo perché avevo grosse aspettative su questo libro, ma é mortalmente noioso e ripetitivo, inoltre é scritto malissimo, tanto che me ne sono accorta anche io che non sono chiaramente inglese madrelingua. Un peccato, perché mi sarebbe piaciuto leggere questa saga di Goodkind di cui tutti parlano, ma a questo punto credo che guarderó la serie TV se mi capita.

Boxhagener Platz: Roman by Torsten Schulz

Ich bin sicher, dass dieses Buch ist viel lustiger als ich denke, aber mein Deutsch ist nicht gut genug. Auf jeden Fall ein Ost-Berliner Geschichte, die Oma, Neffen und eine Menge von Männern handelt, es sich lohnt zu lesen, immer.
Sono sicura che questo libro sia molto piú divertente di quanto io pensi, ma il mio tedesco mi impedisce di apprezzarlo in toto. Resta il fatto che una storia ambientata a Berlino est nel 1968 che comprende una nonna, un nipote e moltissimi mariti, vale la pena di essere letta, sempre.
I'm sure that this book is much more funny than I think, but my german is not good enough. Anyway a East Berlin story that involves granny, nephews and a lot of husbands is worth reading, always.

Extremely thorough and even difficult book that allowed me to understand a lot about the books I read, despite the fact that I then have no intention of writing any of them. The author deals systematically with the world of literature starting from the various genres, and then arriving at the different and possible developments. There are also plenty of prompts for creative writing.
Libro estremamente accurato e anche difficile, che mi ha permesso di capire molto dei libri che leggo, nonostante poi io non abbia intenzione di scriverne nessuno. L'autrice affronta in modo sistematico il mondo della letteratura partendo dai vari generi, per arrivare poi ai differenti e possibili svolgimenti. Ci sono anche tantissimi prompt per la scrittura creativa.

Il terzo voulme della Arslan sulla storia della sua famiglia in fuga dall'Armenia e dalla guerra, si svolge tutto in Italia ed é forse anche il piú noioso dei tre, oltre che quello che ha meno cose da raccontare. Sembra che l'autrice lo abbia scritto fondamentalmente per chiudere le situazioni rimaste aperte e spiegare il suo ruolo nell'intera trilogia, dove fino ad ora lei era stata "la bambina".

Me ne avevano parlato bene e in effetti é un libro che vale la pena leggere anche perché é corto, inoltre avendo un figlio maschio non ho fatto nessunissima fatica ad immedesimarmi, anche se il personaggio del libro ha 18 anni mentre il mio ne ha 6, mostra giá tutti i germi di quelli che evolverano in certi comportamenti piuttosto scontati di fancazzismo spinto. Se non fosse che per certe situazioni mi é parso comunque abbastanza stereotipato l'ho apprezzato.

Imma Tataranni mi é mancata, anche se non posso dire di averla aspettata "alzata", comunque questo giallo che vede la politica mischiarsi con l'ecologia in quel della Basilicata, terra quasi dimenticata, é costruito molto bene al punto di essere decisamente fin troppo credibile. Devo farmi un giro su internet e vedere come funziona l'estrazione del petrolio da quelle parti.
