Sinful (Bitter Creek, #9) by Joan Johnston

I have mixed feelings about this book, but mostly because a girl that loves the husband (and vice versa) of her best friend is not exactly my cup of tea. This is the first book in a series and I do not think I'm going to read the others, I have got also this big issue with going to the church and keep on fighting in an everlasting family feud in the same time.
Ho dei sentimenti molto constrastanti nei confronti di questo libro, ma soprattutto perché una ragazza da sempre innamorata del marito della sua migliore amica non é esattamente la mia trama preferita, anche se poi la suddetta amica muore. Questo é il primo libro di una serie, ma non credo che ne leggeró altri, mi risulta anche di difficile comprensione che i personaggi vadano a messa pur continuando una faida familiare senza fine.

Vari saggi che Eco raccoglie in questo volume molto scorrevole e a tratti particolarmente interessante. Secondo me i migliori sono "Costruire il nemico" appunto, che da il titolo al testo e racconta come dalla preistoria in poi, raccontare un nemico fornendone dettagli orrendi abbia sempre funzionato. "Embrioni fuori dal paradiso" su Tommaso D'Acquino e l'anima, "Il gruppo '63" che raccoglieva alcuni scrittori ed artisti all'epoca ancora poco famosi. Il saggio su Victor Hugo, che mi sento di condividere in toto, come anche quello su Edomond Dantès e il feuilletton. Una nota a margine per "Paese che vai, usanza che trovi", raccolta in forma di racconto di tutti i possibili luoghi comuni, non particolarmente bello da leggere, ma sicuramente elenco esaustivo.

I was expecting something more from Dana and Wolf, because they are around since the beginning, but it was a good easy reading story, with some funny perks and some good plot twist.
Mi aspettavo qualcosa di piú da Dana e Wolf, fosse solo perché sono in giro dall'inizio, peró non era male come libro, scorrevole con alcune battute salaci e un paio di plot twist.

It was a good book, sweet and with a foreseeable plot twist which made the things more interesting. It was also probably the last one on this series that I have found out too late unluckily....
Buon libro, delicato e con un plot twist ampiamente prevedibile, che peró ha reso le cose piú interessanti. Inoltre credo fosse anche l'ultimo di questa serie, che peró ho scoperto troppo tardi....

This was my first book in Bruno's series, too bad, because I'm sure if I had read the others I would have appreciated it even more. Anyway the story is nice, the characters have a long story in common and even if some stereotypes made me smile, I liked the novel.
Questo é stato il mio primo libro della serie di Bruno, peccato, perché sono sicura che se avessi letto anche gli altri avrei apprezzato ancora di piú. Comunque la storia é carina, i personaggi hanno una lunga storia in comune e anche se alcuni stereotipi mi hanno fatto sorridere, il romanzo mi é piaciuto.

Read only the story by Meljean Brook that was pretty good. Caius and Elizabeth are really two nice characters and I'm sorry that theirs was only a short novella.
Ho letto solo la storia della Brook che era veramente piacevole. Caius ed Elizabeth sono due protagonisti niente male e credo che la storia avrebbe potuto essere piú lunga e bella piuttosto che essere "rinchiusa" in una novella.

I didn't like both of the books, there are a long and a short story, maybe because I didn't find them as funny as the author meant probably. But anyway it's just a question of taste.
Queste due storie, una lunga ed una breve, contenute nel libro, non mi sono piaciute, probabilmente ció é dovuto al fatto che l'ironia dell'autrice é diversa dalla mia e non mi ha fatto ridere per niente, specialmente per alcune situazioni veramente....troppo.....ma é solo una questione di gusti.

This Batman of the future didn't give me the same "good vibrations" as the "old Batman", so I think this experiment will finish right here and right now.
Questo Batman del futuro non mi ispira, specialmente se paragonato al Batman a cui sono abituata, quindi credo che non leggeró altro del genere.

Review: Ghost Story

Another good story, even if I had ghosts for a lot of reason, all of them explained to Dresden in this book, so at last my academic brain is happy :) I loved the plot twist and I am looking forward to read the next "normal" Dresden files.
Un'altra bella storia, anche se personalmente i fantasmi li detesto per una serie di ragioni pratiche, che sono state peró tutte spiegate dall'autore e quindi posso ritenermi quanto meno accademicamente soddisfatta. Il plot twist finale é fantastico e non vedo l'ora di sapere come prosegue questo Harry tornato alla "normalitá".

With this third book on Vaughan, the series "Hurley boys" should be terminated. Kelly also was present from the beginning even if in a limited way. The couple make sparks, but I admit that I prefer the unforgiving Kelly to the one who apologizes for something that was not her fault. Easy and fast contemporary romance, but better if read in the context of the series to which it belongs.
Con questo libro su Vaughan la serie sugli Hurley boys dovrebbe essere terminata e non é stata male. Kelly inoltre era presente dall'inizio anche se in modo limitato. Come coppia i due fanno scintille, ma ammetto che la Kelly che non perdona la preferisco a quella che chiede scusa per colpe non sue. Facile e veloce romance contemporaneo, ma meglio se letto inserito nel contesto della serie a cui appartiene.
