Although many topics at the intersection of philosophy, psychology, and neurology are quite interesting, not many of them were particularly new to someone who has been following the subject for a while. Furthermore, at times it seemed to me that the author’s praise of psychedelic substances here was extremely repetitive and, in the end, even a bit tedious—as if it were impossible to understand or attain a certain kind of awareness in any other way. Not Pollan’s best work, in my opinion.
Per quanto molte cose al confine tra filosofia, psicologia e neurologia, sono piuttosto interessanti, non tante erano particolarmente nuove per chi segue l'argomento da un po'. Inoltre mi a volte, mi sembrava che la celebrazione dell'autore delle sostanze psichedeliche qui fosse estremamente ripetitivo e alla fine anche un po' noioso, come se non fosse possibile capire o raggiungere un certo tipo di consapevolezza in nessun altro modo. Non il miglior Pollan secondo me.
