Probabilmente a causa della traduzione, ma magari anche per via della trama, dopo aver sofferto per qualche capitolo ho ceduto e l'ho riportato in biblioteca, magari non era il momento giusto, o magari siamo io e la letteratura russa che abbiamo litigato da piccoli.

Bella storia, ma alla fine il colpevole era piuttosto evidente considerato che avanzava soltanto lui (ho utilizzato un generico pronome maschile, ma non é detto che l'assassino sia un maschio ;) Il commissariato di Pizzofalcone resta una delle mie serie preferite per quanto riguarda i personaggi soprattutto, e poi stavolta De Giovanni ha fatto sopravvivere il bambino di turno, che era giá dall'inizio destinato ad una brutta fine, deve essersi messo una mano sulla coscienza dopo la "strage degli innocenti" che ha fatto nei libri precedenti....

Into the Fire (Night Prince, #4) by Jeaniene Frost

Best book so far involving Vlad and Leila, and the last it seems; we have a lot of friends back to help them like Mencheres and my favorite ever: Ian! The plot is good and there is a lot of action, plus not so much useless sex and enough love. What I also appreciate is that next book is finally going to be Ian's one and I like Veritas also, so I'm looking forward to read it!
Per quanto mi riguarda questo é il migliore tra i libri che vedono Vlad e Leila come protagonisti, inoltre sono contenta che a quanto pare sia l'ultimo, inoltre ci sono anche un sacco di vecchi amici tra cui Mencheres e il mio favorito di sempre: Ian. La trama é avvincente e c'é un sacco di azione, non ci sono inutili e lunghissime scene di sesso, ma c'é amore quanto basta. Quello che inoltre mi riempie di gioia é che il prossimo sará finalmente il libro su Ian e sono contenta che ci sará anche Veritas, perché mi sembra un'eroina tosta.

There are very few things as fascinating as seeing the world trough the eyes of an artist, and that's what this book is about. I didn't like the short stories so much, but that's my own problem with short stories, but the little essays were mostly jewels.
Ci sono poche cose affascinanti come guardare il mondo attraverso gli occhi di un artista, ed é piú o meno il riassunto di questo libro. I racconti non mi hanno fatto impazzire, ma questo é dovuto al mio problema con le storie brevi, ma i piccoli saggi sono dei gioiellini.

Short story that disappointed me in many ways; still thinking about reading the next installment in this series (even if I already know it's not going to be the last one), but I would really love to see the Ascension eventually....
Storia breve che mi ha deluso da parecchi punti di vista; continuo a pensare se sia il caso o meno di leggere il prossimo libro, che non sará nemmeno l'ultimo, ma vorrei veramente vedere come va a finire questa storia dell'Ascensione....

I read this book because I really would love to see what the fuss about the ascension is about but it's getting bored, thank God now we have a book about the Dacians, then I'm not sure I will keep on reading about bored immortals....
Ho letto questo libro perché vorrei veramente arrivare a vedere l'Ascensione, ma mi sto annoiando, fortuna che ora arriva un libro sui Dacians, poi non so se continueró a leggere di immortali annoiati....

Another series coming to an end and a book that, in addition to the two main characters in this story, pulls the strings of all the other books together. Not bad although lately I'm having a lot of trouble distinguishing one from the other, but it's not that it's a problem. Martha Waters has written plots that are a little different from the usual (the theatrical entrepreneur and the fake tisician above all) and this allowed me to continue reading the series to the end without getting too bored.
Un'altra serie che arriva alla fine e un libro che oltre ai due protagonisti di questa storia, tira le file di tutti i libri degli altri. Non male anche se ultimamente faccio parecchia fatica a distinguerli gli uni dagli altri, ma non é che sia poi un problema. Martha Waters ha scritto delle trame un po' diverse dal solito (l'imprenditore teatrale e la finta tisica su tutti) e questo mi ha permesso di continuare a leggere la serie fino alla fine senza annoiarmi troppo.

It may have been due to the happiness of having Hap back from death, or it can be due to the fact that Leonard was at his best, but I think I have read one of the best stories of Lansdale so far with a lot of action and mostly an overall good story.
Potrebbe essere dovuto al fatto che ho creduto per lungo tempo che Hap fosse morto nel libro precedente e quindi non mi pareva vero fosse tornato dal regno dei morti, oppure perché Leonard era in grande spolvero, ma credo di aver letto uno dei migliori romanzi di Lansdale, con un sacco di azione e soprattutto una bella storia.

Ein weiteres Buch, dessen Worte schien einfach, aber die Handlung habe ich nicht verstanden. Vielleicht sollte ich einfach aufhören in Deutsch Literatur Romane zu lesen, weil ich bin noch nicht in der Lage zu verstehen.
Un altro libro le cui parole sembravano facili, ma di cui invece non ho compreso la trama. Forse devo proprio smettere di leggere in tedesco romanzi troppo letterari, perché non sono ancora in grado di capirli.

Ottimo ritorno per il commissario De Luca, del quale, personalmente, avevo sentito la mancanza. Una Bologna fredda nel quale il jazz sembra scaldare qualche cuore, ma forse non abbastanza. Quando si trova a scegliere tra i servizi e il suo dovere di poliziotto, il "cane da tartufi" decide di prendere una terza strada, ma potrebbe essere pericoloso.

Devil in Spring (The Ravenels, #3) by Lisa Kleypas

Lisa Kleypas will always be my first regency author, in any sense, and I love her even if sometimes I think that some old books she wrote are just unreachable. This one is one of the best in latest times and I liked Pandora a lot, she was witty and funny and going back to visit old friends like Sebastian and Evie was a plus. I didn't like Gabriel so much, but I'm sure he will grow on me.
Lisa Kleypas sará per sempre colei che mi ha iniziato al regency romance e l'amerò per il resto dei miei giorni, anche se ormai nessun libro arriva più ai suoi livelli, nemmeno i suoi. Questo comunque resta uno dei romanzi migliori tra gli ultimi e Pandora mi é sempre piaciuta molto, sia per il suo senso del umorismo che per la sua storia piuttosto intensa, inoltre rivedere Sebastian ed Evie mi ha fatto piacere come sempre. Gabriel é l'unico personaggio che non mi abbia fatto impazzire, ma magari con il tempo.....

Luckily I already studied many of the things told by this huge marvelous book, otherwise I would have been probably overwhelmed by the quantity and the quality of the things told by Kandel, who wrote another of my favorite book ever (Principles of Neuroscience). So I wouldn't recommend this book to many, but if you are a psychologist with a love for art and the brain, this is the perfect book for you.
Fortunatamente avevo giá studiato la maggior parte degli argomenti trattati da questo meraviglioso ed immenso libro, altrimenti non so se sarei riuscita ad arrivare in fondo, nonostante Kandel sia uno dei miei autori preferiti ed abbia scritto un altro super libro (Principi di Neuroscienze). Quindi non consiglierei a tanti questo volume, ma se siete degli psicologi con una passione per l'arte e per il cervello, questo é il libro perfetto.

Una novella con i miei personaggi preferiti nell'universo costruito da Lansdale: Hap & Leonard, piú tutta la loro strampalata famiglia. Cani morti, cimiteri, soldi e tanta azione per un piccolo divertissement che mi ha aiutato a superare questo ultimo giorno prima dell'uscita del nuovo libro che li vede protagonisti.

Jane Austen book club by Karen Joy Fowler, Ada Arduini (Translator)

Ho letto la traduzione italiana e non mi é piaciuta, inoltre i personaggi e la storia nemmeno mi sono piaciuti, quindi direi che, a parte il titolo accattivante per chi come me si considera un'estimatrice di Jane Austen, ci sia poco altro. Chick Lit all'ennesima potenza ed uso il termine in modo estremamente negativo, e anche giudicante, non me ne vogliate.

Absolutely brilliant, I didn't even have the slightest idea that Apis mellifera could have been so interesting, as I came across this book while I was study something completely different. So what we learn is that the original idea for the Star Trek's Borg come from bees and their organization shows how to maximise the useful interactions between the members of a community. Somebody should have distributed this book at the PD Congress in Italy.
Molto interessante, non avevo idea che l'apis mellifera potesse essere cosí affascinante, anche perché mi sono ritrovata per caso a leggere questo libro mentre stavo studiando qualcosa di completamente diverso. Quindi praticamente quello che impariamo é che l'idea per i Borg agli sceneggiatori di Star Trek gliel'hanno data le api, la cui organizzazione in termini di ottenere il massimo per la comunitá a cui appartengono é da manuale. Qualcuno avrebbe dovuto distribuire la traduzione di questo volume all'ultimo congresso del PD in Italia.

Uno di quei libri che si possono leggere in meno di un'ora e che ti fanno ripensare tutta una vita, eh sí che ormai il conflitto con i russi in Afganistan é roba vecchia, morta e sepolta, come tutti i morti, inutili, che si é lasciata dietro, insieme ad armi e odi atavici che invece avranno un seguito.
