Books to survive death and loss of a loved one, but I prefer reading one novel a day just to be happy. It was ok, but as I had already read most of the books it was not so interesting.
I libri come mezzo per sopravvivere alla morte di una persona casa, anche se io preferirei leggere un libro al giorno anche solo per essere felice. Non é stato male, ma siccome conoscevo giá la maggior parte dei libri, nemmeno particolarmente interessante.

Super lustig Roman aber es macht mir so trauring, denken dass der author so jung gestorben ist!
Romanzo veramente divertente, ma solo l'idea che l'autore sia morto cosí giovane, in qualche modo mi rovina il tutto.

La vita, la morte, le metafore, la letteratura, sentirsi a casa e sentirsi senza casa. Interessante e brillante, non é il primo libro che leggo di Wood e non sará nemmeno l'ultimo.

A very high level book about books, of poetry mostly, that was not what I expected and that's the reason why I'm a little bit disappointed, as I didn't know the majority of the things she was talking about.
Un libro di alto livello culturale sui libri, principalmente di poesie , che non era esattamente quello che mi aspettavo e quindi, sono rimasta un po' delusa, anche perché nominava quasi tutti libri, autori e poesie che non conoscevo affatto.

Libro interessante, peccato che non potessi leggere le parti in greco (sarebbe stato utile avere una trascrizione tra partentesi), mi sarebbe piaciuto perché almeno il 30% delle parole italiane (e non) ne deriva etimologicamente. Insomma, aver fatto lo scientifico é stato un errore da quasi tutti i punti di vista.

Es war mir zu kompliziert.
Decisamente troppo difficile per me seguire questo libro, la cui trama comincia ad intravedersi verso la 150esima pagina. Peccato, perché era scritto veramente bene, ma non essendo tedesca potevo apprezzarlo solo fino ad un certo punto.

Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow by Yuval Noah Harari

I read Sapiens so some of the topics discussed by the author in this book I already knew, what was interesting is the vision of the future that Harari predicts and it is something more philosophical than everything else. Are we going to be subdued to intelligent computers (as all the biological organism are algorithms) except some humas that will be elevated to the role of Gods? As usual this is a very fast reading because the author is a great scientist who is able to explain almost every complex thought in a clear way.
Avevo giá letto Sapiens, quindi alcuni concetti di questo libro mi erano giá noti, quindi la cosa per me piú interessante é la visione del futuro che Harari predice e le domande che ne derivano, piú filosofiche che altro. Saremo sottomessi ad una serie di computer intelligenti (perché come organismi biologici non siamo che algoritmi) tranne rari eletti che si eleveranno al ruolo di dei? L'autore é un grande scienziato in grado di chiarire anche i concetti piú ostici e quindi il libro si legge velocemente.

Somewhat disappointing, both because of the insta-love from Travis and the very rushed ending. Samantha then from a perfect city girl, transforms in three weeks into a lover of the countryside and family life. I don't know, it didn't convince me that much.
Un po' deludente, sia per l'insta-love da parte di Travis che per il finale molto frettoloso. Samantha poi da perfetta city girl, si trasforma in tre settimane in un'amante della campagna e della vita familiare. Non lo so, non mi ha convinto poi cosí tanto.

Such a little book but so dense.....As I'm not black I cannot even try to understand completely the way the author feels; as an Italian living in Berlin I understand how you feel to be a "stranger in a stranger land" but it has to be so hard to be a stranger in your own land, and so dangerous! If you really believe that "Black lives matters" recommend this book to all the people you know.
Un libro piccolo ma molto denso...Non sono nera, quindi non posso nemmeno cercare di capire completamente i sentimenti dell'autore, ma come italiana a Berlino so come si ci sente ad essere "stranieri in terra straniera", ma pensate cosa deve essere quando sei straniero nella tua terra, e magari ti ammazzano solo per il colore della tua pelle! Se davvero siete convinti dell'importanza della campagna "Black lives matters", fate leggere questo libro a tutte le persone che conoscete.

This is a great book if you come from the U.S., any other instance is difficult to judge because, for example, as an Italian woman, most of the things she describes do not apply to our situation. So it was interesting, even if from time to time I missed some references to people/places/situations, and it gave me food for thought, but I would love to read something similar tailored on Italy.
Questo é un gran libro se sei una donna statunitense, non saprei negli altri casi, perché per esempio per me che sono italiana, molte delle cose descritte non sono nemmeno lontanamente applicabili. Quindi posso dire che é stata una lettura interessante, anche se a volte non avevo le informazioni per capire i riferimenti a persone/posti/situazioni, ma sicuramente mi ha dato da riflettere, tanto che vorrei proprio leggere qualcosa di simile scritto per l'Italia.

Bellissimo. Nessuno fino ad ora secondo me, era riuscito a riassumere in modo cosí completo e divertente cosa significhi veramente essere adulto. Da una delle mie scrittrici preferite.

Another fun ride, full of stories and deaths, of course. Darrow is getting better, Lysander couldn't. Looking forward to the next and hopefully last installment.
Un altro romanzo pieno di avventure e di storie parallele e di morti, ovviamente. Darrow sta migliorando e Lysander non c'è riuscito. Non vedo l'ora che esca il prossimo volume, sperando che sia l'ultimo.

The only thing that consoles me is the fact that this was a duology so this ordeal quickly came to an end. I didn't like the story of Nat and this universe where the gods have adapted and live among humans at all, both the plot and the way the author has of writing. I don't know Russian, but apparently that is a prerequisite, and that also bothered me a lot. Absolutely not recommended, both the first and the second book.
L'unica cosa che mi consola, é il fatto che questo fosse una duologia quindi questo strazio é arrivato velocemente ad una fine. La storia di Nat e di questo universo dove gli dei si sono adeguati e vivono tra gli umani non mi é piaciuta affatto, sia per la trama che per il modo che ha l'autrice di scrivere. Non conosco il russo, ma a quanto pare é un requisito fondamentale e anche questo mi ha dato parecchio fastidio. Assolutamente sconsigliato, sia il primo che il secondo libro.

All that man is, is a collection of 9 different stories to show the possible life of white man from when he is 17 to his 70s trough in Europe, but it's not the same man, even if all of them are "loser" and depressing characters. I didn't like this book so much mostly because reading on it seemed to me that if the men are just that, we are doomed, and from time to time I thought that some of them were really stereotyped. Anyway it's well written and a fast reading.
All that man is é una collezione di 9 differenti racconti tesi a mostrare un uomo bianco attraverso le varie fasi della sua esistenza in Europa, diciamo dai 17 ai 70 anni piú o meno, ma non si tratta dello stesso uomo, per quanto i personaggi di questo libro hanno in comune il fatto di essere tutti piú o meno degli "sfigati" e anche piuttosto stereotipati, il che rende il libro piuttosto deprimente. Forse questa é la ragione per cui non mi é piaciuto poi piú di tanto, anche perché se "l'uomo" é tutto qui, siamo fregati. Comunque si legge in fretta ed é ben scritto.

Ok questo é l'ultimo. Lo so che magari non é giusto scegliere una novella per chiudere una serie, ma non ho né tempo né voglia di leggere un altro libro. Ciao Midnight's Breed di Lara Adrian, é stato bello finché é durato.

I have no excuses but I like this short novellas packed with a lot of action and steamy sex. Nothing unforgettable but they are funny to read.
Non ho scuse, ma mi piacciono queste storielline con un sacco di azione e di sesso. Niente di indimenticabile per caritá, ma sono divertenti da leggere.
