Nice book about what we have to do in our near future to make the world a better place, for us and for our children. Starting from the fact that we do not have to worry only for our kids but for all the children of the world, the Dalai Lama talks about his way of being in the world, a sort of Tibetan Mindfulness I can say, and then he starts to speak with Goleman about emotions, the famous "Kidness revolution" and the even more famous book by Pinketts about capitalism and all the way it fails to change something for the better. Then it starts a long discussion about the way ecenomy should change and try to include the wellness for the most of the people and not only for people who are already getting richer and richer, compassion is a very important word in this part of the book, because it helps the other and also us, giving a new meaning to our life. Considering the our planet comes after and it shows how important it is not to exploit our resources, because as far as we know, there is not another planet waiting for us....
Bel libro, riguarda tutto quello che dovremmo fare in un futuro decisamente prossimo, per rendere il mondo un posto migliore, sia per noi che per i nostri figli. Partendo dal fatto che non dobbiamo preoccuparci solo per i nostri di bambini, ma per quelli del mondo, il Dalai Lama parla del suo "modo di essere nel mondo", una specie di Mindfulness tibetana mi viene da dire per semplificare e poi parla con Goleman delle emozioni, della ormai famosa "Rivoluzione della gentilezza" e dell'ancora piú famoso libro di Pinketts sul capitalismo e di tutti i modi in cui fallisce nell'ottica di migliorare la situazione economica della maggior parte delle persone, piuttosto che arricchire quella minima percentuale di gente giá ricchissima. Da qui parte poi una lunga discussione sul modo in cui l'economia dovrebbe cambiare per cercare di includere la compassione nei confronti di coloro che sono meno fortunati, anche perché non solo li aiuta, ma ci ofre anche un modo di sentirci piú utili e di dare un senso ad una vita che spesso sembra non averne. Infine viene considerato lo stato del pianeta e di come si importante non distruggerne tutte le risorse e le riserve anche perché, per quanto ne sappiano a tutt'oggi, non c'é un pianeta di ricambio che ci aspetta...
