Alcuni dei trucchi e dei suggerimenti che l'autrice offre e spiega molto chiaramente in questo libro, purtroppo non sono applicabili fuori dagli Stati Uniti, ma tutti gli altri li useró per stabilire una mia accurata pianificazione in modo da non morire di fame in vecchiaia, il problema principale peró, resta il fatto che non riesco a trovare un lavoro nel frattempo....

The idea on which this manga is based upon is creepy and makes me totally uncomfortable. But that is just me.

I didn't like the diaries so I was a little worried about this new book by David Sedaris but I was wrong, because there is a sort a return to the great days of "me talk pretty one day" or "engulfed in flames" and I literally read this book from the beginning till the end in one setting and I finished wanting more and more. I love that he is back, even more now that he is in him middle age together with more or less all his siblings, Hugh and the father who is a character in himself.
I diari non mi erano piaciuti, quindi era con parecchia titubanza che mi sono comprata questo nuovo libro di Sedaris che però è stato un clamoroso ritorno ai bei tempi, quelli di "Me parlare bello un giorno" o "Quando verrete divorati dalle fiamme" per capirsi e me lo sono divorato dall'inizio alla fine in un giorno e quando l'ho finito avrei continuato volentieri ancora per parecchio. Mi piace che sia tornato ad essere il solito, specialmente ora che affronta i temi della mezza età che ha raggiunto assieme alla maggior parte delle sue sorelle, mentre Hugh ed il padre sono ormai due personaggi fissi delle sue storie.
Too many people recommended me this book so of course I was absolutely skeptical and in the end didn't like it sooo much. I also have problem with all the recent literature who treats psychological problem in a very light and also funny way but has very little to do with reality, but it's ok, it's fiction.
Troppe persone alla fine mi avevano parlato bene di questo libro e quindi ero scettica ed il risultato infatti non é stato quello voluto perché l'ho finito a fatica. Inoltre ho qualche problema con i libri che trattano di problemi psicologici/psichiatrici in modo leggero e divertente, perché non hanno niente a che fare con la realtá, ma ok, stiamo comunque parlando di fiction.
Rileggere un libro dopo tanti anni per un gruppo di lettura e trovarlo ancora bellissimo. Immagino sia questa la definizione di un classico tutto sommato.
I liked this book, but I found the central part way too long and not so necessary. Anyway I think that for a love story it is not bad, but sometimes a little bit too excessive.
Questo libro mi é piaciuto, ma secondo me la parte centrale era veramente troppo lunga e nemmeno troppo necessaria. Comunque per quanto riguarda le storie d'amore non era male, magari a volte gratuitamente eccessiva.
Un'altra volta il commissario triste, che ormai non si capacita della sua vecchiaia e in qualche modo tenta di combatterla; diciamo che la parte dell'eroe gli riesce fino a quando resta in commissariato, ma appena ne esce il discorso cambia. A volte mi fa arrabbiare questa incapacitá di Montalbano di uscire dalle strade note, ma insomma mi rendo anche conto che arrabbiarsi con un personaggio immaginario è più inutile che arrabbiarsi per l'attuale governo....
Funny and full of surprise, one of the best plot so far in this series that I'm pretty sure it has more things to tell. Waiting for Ryota's story anyway, better if it has Nikita involved.
Divertente e piena di sorprese, questo libro ha una delle trame migliori per quanto riguarda questa serie, che sono sicura ha ancora molte frecce al suo arco. Sto ancora aspettando la storia di Ryota comunque, meglio ancora se prevede anche Nikita.

I liked this book a lot, even if in the end I had almost everything clear in my mind, but it was not easy. The plot was convoluted but not in a tricky way, there were clear hints all along the way about the culprit and I loved the very bad consultant of police, he seriously is the embodiment of the worst policeman politically incorrect.
Questo libro mi é piaciuto molto anche se, arrivati alla fine, avevo capito quasi tutto, ma non é stato facile. La trama era abbastanza complessa ma non tanto da non essere piena di indizi rispetto al colpevole e soprattutto il consulente della polizia era veramente perfetto nell'incarnare lo stereotipo del poliziotto politicamente scorretto.

It was not a bad story, but it was lacking in desperation, or so to say. The way the couple is trying to rekindle their relationship left me a little bit cold because in my opinion she took the easy way out, as a woman I'm not so sure it would have been my choice of election.
Non é una brutta storia, ma in qualche modo mancava della giusta disperazione, per cosí dire. Il modo in cui la coppia sta cercando di riprendere il mano il loro rapporto mi ha lasciato piuttosto freddina, perché in qualche modo non ritengo, da donna, che avrei fatto la stessa scelta al suo posto.

In diesem Buch ist die Geschichte mit kleinen Erzälungen durchsetzt. Meine Kenntnisse der deutschen Sprache hat mir erlaubt, den kleinen Zwischenspielen viel besser zu folgen als die Geschichte, die sie einschließt. Es bleibt jedoch eine gute Erinnerung an dieses kleine Buch, das auf einigen Seiten die Atmosphäre, die am Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs atmete, voll ausleben konnte.
In questo libro la storia viene intervallata da piccole storie. La mia conoscenza della lingua tedesca mi ha permesso di seguire molto meglio i piccoli intermezzi rispetto alla storia che li comprende. Resta comunque un buon ricordo di questo piccolo libro che in poche pagine é stato in grado di rendere appieno l'atmosfera che si respirava alla fine della seconda guerra mondiale.
It took me ages to read this book, seriously, I had no idea space operas would be so long and boring even if I had great expectations, or maybe due to the fact that I had great expectations. this book brags on and on and on, a story that would have taken more or less 200 pages to be told, is double long and triple boring. Enough Iain M. banks for me.
Ci ho messo una vita intera a leggere questo libro, davvero, non avevo idea che le "space operas" potessero essere così noiose e lunghe soprattutto, e pensare che chissà cosa mi aspettavo perché tutti me ne avevano parlato così bene.... Questo libro si trascina per quasi 500 pagine, utilizzate per raccontare una storia che ne avrebbe necessitate non più di 200 a dire tanto. Per quanto mi riguarda con Iain M. Banks ho aperto e chiuso.
Buch ohne große literarische Ansprüche, aber es hat mir sehr gefallen und dauerte das Recht vor, jetzt habe ich auch Lust auf einen Garten!
Libro senza grosse pretese letterarie che però mi é piaciuto ed é durato il giusto, inoltre mi ha anche fatto venire voglia di avere un giardino!
I liked this book even if I didn't like so much Shep, too bad because he is the hero, but Emma is lovely and I love her so much that I kept on reading mostly because of her. Still wondering about the other two brothers on the series....
