If I hadn't had to read this book for one of my book clubs, I would have probably quit after 50 long and dragging pages, but I didn't and in the end I was happy because the story is convoluted enough to remain interesting even if the pace is way too slow. I am not also so convinced about the ending but ok, at last I don't have to wait for a second installment in another never ending series :)

Se non avessi dovuto leggere questo libro per uno dei miei book club, probabilmente avrei abbandonato il volume intorno a pagina 50, e sarebbe stato un peccato perché alla fine la storia non era male, pur se raccontata con una lentezza sconcertante. Non sono nemmeno poi particolarmente felice del finale, ma almeno non devo aspettare un altro volume ed aggiungere alla lista un'altra serie infinita :)

Even better than the first one regarding the plot, and as fine as usual for the steampunk illustrations. I really hope there is going to be more of Lady Mechanika in the future!

Meglio del primo per quanto riguarda la trama e bello come al solito per le illustrazioni steampunk. Spero ci sará un futuro per Lady Mechanika!

This graphic novel is really well done, but I was a little bit disappointed in the plot and the dialogues. This doesn't mean that I'm looking forward to read the second installment in this series as I have a big love for steampunk whatever the form it takes.

Questa graphic novel é disegnata benissimo, anche se i dialoghi e la trama in generale non sono proprio il massimo. Questo non significa che io non leggeró il secondo volume, anzi, considerato il mio amore per tutto ció che é steampunk.

I don't like the retelling of old fables so much, but this one was not bad, a little bit of steampunk, a little bit of magic and the usual love triangle taht´s common in every YA novel. What you have is a bewitched Cinderella with a step mother, a step sister, a best friend whom is in love with her and the prince, of course.

Di solito non mi piacciono le favole rivisitate, ma questa non era male: un pochino di steampunk, un pochino di magia e il solito triangolo amoroso che c'é in ogni libro YA. Quello che si ottiene é una Cenerentola stregata, con una matrigna, una sorellastra, un amico del cuore che si innamora di lei e ovviamente, un principe.

I have to admit that even if the book was good enough, I found it absolutely too long. I was a little bit tired of all the political manipulation and tricks and all the secrecy and hidden stories, but ok in the end I got my happy ending, eventually.

Devo ammettere che anche se il libro non era male, l'ho trovato decisamente troppo lungo. Non ne potevo piú di macchinazioni politiche e segreti e storie omesse, ma ok, tanto alla fine, per fortuna, ho avuto anche il lieto fine che volevo.

Read only the story by Meljean Brook that was pretty good. Caius and Elizabeth are really two nice characters and I'm sorry that theirs was only a short novella.

Ho letto solo la storia della Brook che era veramente piacevole. Caius ed Elizabeth sono due protagonisti niente male e credo che la storia avrebbe potuto essere piú lunga e bella piuttosto che essere "rinchiusa" in una novella.

I didn't really like it except for the steampunk stuff. They were boring, she was as clever as a 5 years old and in the end I just want to finish the book.

Non mi é piaciuto veramente se escludiamo le parti steampunk e cioé i vari macchinari e marchingegni. La coppia protagonista era totalmente noiosa e lei, in particolare, sembrava avere l'intelligenza di una bambina di 5 e non ne potevo piú per questo mi sono affrettata a finire il libro.

Funny book, with a little of steampunk, a little adventure and above all, a relationship that still is developing (will happen? will it not happen?) And then want to continue the series and, in my case, also read the first volume.

Libro divertente, con un po' di steampunk, un po' di avventura e soprattutto una relazione che ancora non si é consumata (succederá? non succederá?) e quindi fa voglia di proseguire la serie e, nel mio caso, di leggere anche il primo volume.

I must admit that in spite of the second book being a big disappointment and this third volume is shaping up as yet another and not the last one and especially the main protagonist is a girl I hated, this book is not so bad. I have to admit it although the story has taken a turn that I did not like it at all, because I have always been rooting for Hugh, but now the love triangle.....I can not stand it, it's too YA.

Devo ammettere che nonostante il secondo libro fosse stato una grossa delusione e questo terzo volume si preannuncia come l'ennesimo e non l'ultimo e soprattutto la protagonista principale sia una femmina odiosa questo libro non mi é dispiaciuto. Lo devo ammettere nonostante la storia abbia preso una piega che non mi piace affatto, anche perché io ho sempre fatto il tifo per Hugh, ma ora il triangolo non lo sopporto, fa troppo YA.

I had high expectations and I paid. Not a bad book, in fact nice, the steampunk part is done really well, but I was expecting something more after hearing more than a friend praising it. I will continue the series anyway, I can not resist!

Third and last installment of the series (for now) "The Baskerville Affair", all settles down, all the characters go back in the limelight, good and bad, and some who forsake forever, or maybe. Evelina has her moments of glory, as well as Niccoló and Tobias and all the various actors. As for the other books, although this is one of the best along with the second, I would have liked a hundred pages less but this is still one of the best trilogies steampunk of the year.

Terzo e per ora ultimo capitolo della serie The Baskerville Affair, tutti i nodi tornano al pettine, tutti i personaggi tornano alla ribalta, buoni e cattivi, ed alcuni l'abbandonano per sempre, o forse. Evelina ha i suoi momenti di gloria, come anche Niccoló e Tobias e tutti i vari comprimari. Come anche per gli altri libri, nonostante questo sia tra i migliori assieme al secondo, avrei fatto volentieri a meno di un centinaio di pagine resta comunque una delle migliori trilogie steampunk dell'anno.

I admit that I did not expect that in the third book there were other main characters instead of Phaeton and America, that somehow I also missed ... The focus of the story should revolve around looking for Phaeton, the reality is that involves the relationship between Dr.Exeter and Mia, that we can say change the terms of their bond. At this point the trilogy might end up here or maybe continue, so we'll see.

Ammetto che non mi aspettavo che il terzo libro avesse altri personaggi rispetto a Phaeton ed America, che in qualche modo mi sono anche mancati...Il fulcro della storia che dovrebbe ruotare intorno alla ricerca di Phaeton, il realtá é la relazione tra il Dr.Exeter e Mia, che diciamo cambiano i termini della loro relazione. A questo punto la trilogia potrebbe sia finire qui che continuare, quindi staremo a vedere.

Even this second installment was not so intriguing, as every second book, it seems just a bridge to the third, so our main characters do not spend enough time together even if when they do, they are funny as usual. Now the cliffhanger left me wondering, so I´m pretty sure I will read the 3rd installment, courtesy of Netgalley ;)

Anche questa seconda storia nella serie non era poi cosí affascinante; come tutti i secondi libri sembra esistere soltanto per mettere le basi per il terzo capitolo della serie e anche i personaggi principali non passano poi abbastanza tempo assieme, anche se quando lo fanno sono divertenti come al solito. Ora la parte finale che rimane in sospeso mi fa pensare che sicuramente leggeró il terzo volume, grazie a Netgalley ;)

I was expecting something a little bit different, anyway a part from the sex, and there is a lot of sex, the steampunk was ok and even the plot, I just didn´t connect with the characters so much as I need and usually hope.

Mi aspettavo qualcosa di diverso, comunque a parte la quantitá esagerata di sesso, lo sfondo steampunk era ben caratterizzato e anche la trama, per quanto a volte presentasse dei buchi, non era male, il mio problema é che i due personaggi non mi piacevano abbastanza da immedesimarmi completamente.
