This story tells the life of Jake, whose life in the southern United States is not an easy one, he is considered an idiot and after the death of the mother is also hospitalized. The author still has the ability to tell a story without getting too dramatic or emphasize sad things, as it seems to us that all things considered, at least at times, Jake is also happy. However, even if it is beautiful written, the story is tragic and heartbreaking.

Questa storia racconta la vita di Jake, la cui vita nel sud degli Stati Uniti non é certo facile, lui é considerato un idiota e dopo la morte della madre viene anche ospedalizzato. L'autrice ha comunque la capacitá di raccontare senza diventare troppo drammatica o enfatizzare le cose piú tristi, quasi ci sembra che tutto sommato, almeno a tratti, Jake sia anche felice. Comunque sia, per quanto bella, la storia resta drammatica e straziante.

I couldn't finish it. Sorry but the Nordic Gods in the end were the one I read before in Byatt, Gaiman and Kevin Hearne of course. I had great expectations from this book, due to the fact that I love Tom Hiddleston mostly, so I was sadly disappointed to meet "yours truly" acting like an idiot teenager. It is ok, I didn't really need another series to read, I am just sorry that I had to read this one for my book club....

Non l'ho finito, mi spiace ma per quanto mi riguarda gli dei nordici sono quelli che ho letto nei libri della Byatt, di Gaiman e naturalmente di Kevin Hearne. Avevo inoltre grosse aspettative anche perché sono una groupie di Tom Hiddleton, quindi il rammarico é doppio perché il personaggio di questo libro parla e si comporta come un adolescente inquieto. Comunque il lato positivo é che non avevo assolutamente bisogno di impelagarmi in un'altra serie....ma non andró alla discussione del mio book club.

The story of this young woman, who met and learns to love her favorite author, more than 30 years older than she and already married, it is a story with an ending already written. Despite this, however, the author recounts their meetings the evolution of their relationship with a lot of delicacy, and knowing that the novel is based, at least in part, on the relationship of the writer with Faulkner, makes it even more believable.

Il racconto di questa giovane donna, che conosce ed impara ad amare il suo autore preferito, piú grande di lei di 30 anni e giá sposato, é una storia con un finale giá scritto. Nonostante questo peró, l'autrice racconta con molta delicatezza i loro incontri, l'evoluzione del loro rapporto e sapere che il romanzo si basa, quanto meno in parte, sulla relazione della scrittrice con Faulkner, rende il tutto ancora piú credibile.

I admit that I expected a science fiction story, I mean, we're talking about Aldiss here, but instead I found myself re-reading Sophocles and to be precise the "Oedipus the King" and "Antigone", the fact is that no matter how different these two stories from the original version are, they are just beautiful and even if he made some change, especially the end of Antigone, this book is absolutely a must read.

Ammetto che mi aspettavo un racconto di fantascienza, voglio dire, stiamo parlando di Aldiss qui, ma invece mi sono trovata una rilettura di Sofocle e per essere precisi l'"Edipo re" e l'"Antigone", fatto sta che per quanto diverse dall'originale queste due storie nella versione di Aldiss sono proprio belle e anche riviste, specialmente il finale dell'Antigone. Da leggere.

Pretty strange comics, a perfect mix between a manga and a super hero comic from the '60. I couldn't stop laughing at the name chosen for the super villains anyway and there's more than a bromance between batman and Robin ;) An "interesting" reading but it's only for Batman's super fan.

Uno strano fumetto, a metá strada tra un manga e un giornaletto di supereroi degli anni '60. Inoltre non potevo smettere di ridere di fronte ai nomi scelti per i super cattivi e nemici di Batman e inoltre, c'é molto piú di quello che sembra tra Batman&Robin ;) Una lettura "interessante", ma consigliabile solo ai super Fan di Batman.

This is yet another series that I start writing toby her and once again I have the absolute certainty that I will not continue it. Since she is one of the most popular writers in the paranormal romance world, it is clear that the problem is mine, but again the book for me was so boring and the idea that there are three other brothers to read about scares me .....

Ci deve essere qualche problema tra me e Jacquelyn Frank, perché tutto il mondo lo adora e io la trovo sempre piú noiosa. Questa é l'ennesima serie che comincio scritta da lei e anche stavolta ho la certezza assoluta che non proseguiró. Considerato che lei é una delle scrittrici piú apprezzate nell'ambito del paranormal romance é chiaro che il problema é mio, ma anche stavolta il libro per me é stato di una noia mortale e l'idea che ci siano altri tre fratelli mi spaventa....

Banale, banalissimo, la stessa idea di partenza era trita e ritrita, ogni volta che cominciava un capitolo (per quanto la lista della spesa fosse una piacevole novitá) tutto il resto che seguiva era come un film giá visto, tante tante volte.

I liked this third volume in the series of the Dresden Files, it is good like the first, and much more of the second installment, perhaps because I like the ghosts much more than the werewolves. Here Harry must defend himself against a spirit that invades the dreams and is therefore very dangerous, his affair with Susan evolves and we also get to know Michael, the unforgettable knight of the cross. Who knows if in the future we will meet again Thomas, vampire maltreated by all but quite charming.

Questo terzo volume nella serie dei Dresden Files mi é piaciuto come il primo, ergo piú del secondo, forse perché i fantasmi mi stanno molto piú simpatici dei lupi mannari. Qui Harry deve difendersi da una uno spirito che invade i sogni ed é quindi molto pericoloso, la sua storia con Susan evolve e conosciamo anche Michael indimenticabile cavaliere della croce. Chissá se in futuro incontreremo di nuovo anche Thomas, vampiro bistrattato da tutti ma decisamente affascinante.

Absolutely loved it!
I've read all of Mrs. Dawn books and she delivers every. damn. time.
I adored Trixie sass and how she interacts with the Royals. As for her mate... well... let's just say that enemy to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and I just hope Scarlett will not kill him off, because she is famous for killing mates in practically all her books. I can't wait for the next book, because we are still at the enemy who barely tolerates each other stage. I want to see the arrogant shifter king falling! Go Trixie!

I love Sara Ramsey's books, I love her heroine, never banal and obvious, and I love her Heroes, never too Alpha to become A$$..le. So I loved this book too, I was already fascinated by the supervillain Duke of Thorns from the last book and I was so happy when I knew that this book was out. I read it in 3 hours, and now I'm terribly sad to wait more than 6 months for the next installment in this series, and I already love Rafe....

Adoro i libri di Sara Ramsey, mi picciono le sue eroine, mai banali e ovvie, e mi piacciono i suoi maschi che non sono mai troppo alfa per diventare insopportabili. Quindi anche questo libro mi é piaciuto e giá mi ero innamorata del Duca di Thorns nel libro precedente e sono stata felicissima quando ho scoperto che era uscito questo libro. L'ho letto in tre ore e ora sono molto triste perché dovró affrontare piú di sei mesi per il prossimo e giá mi piace Rafe....

Questo libro é una raccolta di saggi su tutti quegli argomenti che hanno a che fare con lo zen e l'arte della spada, gli haiku, la cerimonia de té e cosí via. Non sono molto recenti e piú volte ci sono ripetizioni in quanto l'autore li ha scritti in tempi differenti e solo dopo li ha raccolti, ció non toglie che per chi sia interessato all'argomento resta il libro migliore che ho letto fino ad ora.
