I am bored but it's not this book's fault, it's just that I read this one after many more on the similar topic and they just say all the same things in my opinion so it's probably the right time to take a break from the subject.
Sono molto annoiata, ma non per via di questo libro, che nel caso specifico non riesco nemmeno a distinguere da tutti gli altri che lo hanno preceduto, é proprio l'argomento che mi ha stufato, quindi é il caso di fermarsi un attimo.

In this book you really feel the weight of the years, plus the last part about Sanskrit and Hindu deities was really cumbersome for me, but as already mentioned, I will never be able to become a Buddhist.
In questo libro si sente molto il peso degli anni, inoltre l'ultima parte sul sanscrito e le divinitá indú é stato veramente pesante per me, ma come giá detto, non riusciró mai a diventare buddista.

This book left me completely cold: too much bromance, too much explanation, too much drama. I was expecting something a little more complex from one of my favorite regency romance writer, but maybe the next one is going to be better.
Questo libro mi ha lasciato completamente indifferente: troppo bromance, troppe spiegazione e soprattutto troppo dramma. Mi aspettavo qualcosa di leggermente piú complesso da una delle mie scrittrici di regency romance preferite, ma magari il prossimo é migliore.

Review: Espedair Street

This is by far the book by Ian Banks that I have enjoyed the most. I think I have read 6 or 7 and of all of them this novel is the only one with a nice linear story, with no absolute follies other than those done by some personages, but falling within a Euclidean context.
The main character then, bass player of a band that no longer exists and tenant of a fake cathedral with a false cemetery attached, is truly remarkable. I am sure that of all the books of his that we will read over the next six years in our quarterly cycle, I will not forget this Ian Banks.
Questo é in assoluto il libro di Ian Banks che mi é piaciuto di piú fino ad ora. Credo di averne letti 6 o 7 e, tra tutti, questo romanzo é l'unico con una bella storia lineare, senza follie assolute se non quelle fatte da alcuni personaggi, ma che rientrano in un contesto euclideo. Il protagonista principale poi, bassista di una band che non esiste piú e inquilino di una falsa cattedrale con annesso finto cimitero, é veramente notevole. Sono sicura che di tutti i libri suoi che leggeremo nei prossimi sei anni nel nostro ciclo trimestrale, questo Ian Banks non me lo dimenticherò piú.

Non posso considerarmi assolutamente una fan girl, quindi tramite questo libro ho avuto accesso a tutta una serie di informazioni che non avrei, altrimenti, saputo dove trovare. Adesso ho finalmente capito cosa significhi, per esempio, slash.

Another good book from Ilona Andrews and what a couple Connor and Nevada! The plot altogether was convoluted enough to keep the pace steady and the other characters were a nice addiction. I loved this series and looking forward to the last book, and even if I appreciate that there are still authors that bring their series to an end, I will miss this family of freaks!
Un altro bel libro dalla premiata ditta Ilona Andrews e che coppia Connor e Nevada! La trama é bella complessa e tiene il ritmo ben alto, inoltre i personaggi secondari sono uno meglio dell'altro. Amo questa serie e aspetto il prossimo libro con un misto di gioia e tristezza, perché se pur apprezzo che in questo mondo letterario ci siano anche autori che finiscono le loro serie, questa famiglia di pazzi mi mancherá particolarmente!

Useless novella that left me completely disappointed even if I was happy to meet some old friends again, but mostly I couldn't even remember who's who and with whom....
Storiellina abbastanza inutile che mi ha lasciato completamente insoddisfatta, anche se ero contenta di incontrare i vecchi personaggi, purtroppo peró non mi ricordavo la maggior parte di loro né i vari accoppiamenti.

Stoicism as a philosophy to live in the better possible way was something I've never thought about, and I was happy to read this book because it shows how actual and modern it can still be after all this century. I will go back now, and read some other books from this author, because he writes pretty good and he is clear and gives a lot of examples.
Lo stoicismo come filosofia per vivere nel migliore dei modi possibili non l'avevo mai considerata, e sono stata quindi felice di leggere questo libro, che mi é piaciuto soprattutto perché mostra come possa essere attuale nonostante risalga a centinaia di anni fa.. Ora cercheró qualche altro libro di questo autore perché scrive bene, e fornisce molti esempi per rendere il tutto piú chiaro.

Another funny chapter in this never ending saga, it's ok at last the entertainment is granted and it's a short reading and not at all unforgettable.
Un altro breve e divertente capitolo nella saga infinita dei Dark Protectors, va bene perché anche stavolta é stata una lettura divertente, breve e assolutamente dimenticabile.
