The Vegetarian by Han KangMy rating: 3 of 5 stars
This is one of the most hard book I've read so far. It's not the language or the plot, it's the topic. Divided in three parts, the difficult grows from the first on. Story starts with a wife who decides to stop eating meet, the second part involves the son in law and in the third we have the end told by her sister. I used to work with eating disorders as a psychotherapist, but the story of my clients were easy to handle compared to this one, that has more to do with schizophrenia than anorexia anyway. I wouldn't recommend this book to anybody.
Questo é uno dei libri piú difficili che abbia letto fino ad ora. Non per il linguaggio o per come é scritto, é per via dell'argomento trattato. Diviso in tre parti, con l'aumentare del numero delle pagine cresceva anche la mia difficoltá nel proseguire. La storia comincia con una moglie dimessa che, a causa di un sogno, decide di diventare vegana; la seconda parte vede la partecipazione del genero e la terza si conclude con la versione della sorella. Quando facevo la psicoterapeuta lavoravo con pazienti con disturbi del comportamento alimentari, ma é stato molto piú facile ascoltare le loro storie che leggere questo libro, che comunque riguarda piú la schizofrenia che l'anoressia. Inoltre non lo consiglierei a nessuno.
