there are some books that are a punch in the gut, and others that slowly poison you, as if in sweet agony. In my opinion, "Our Missing Hearts" belongs to the second category because the magnitude of the havoc appears to us slowly. More and more gradually, like the boiling frog, the scenario that is painted (by the way, excellently by the author) takes on more and more frightening contours and the plot becomes more chilling also because it is clearly imaginable and not at all far from reality. Beautiful and above all necessary to continue to keep our eyes open because these situations have not happened, but continue to happen and probably will not stop.

Ci sono dei libri che sono un pugno nello stomaco, e altri che invece ti avvelenano lentamente, come in una dolce agonia. Secondo me "Our missing hearts" appartiene alla seconda categoria perché la grandezza dello scempio ci appare piano piano. Sempre piú lentamente, come la rana che bolle, lo scenario che viene dipinto (tra l'altro in modo egregio dall'autrice) assume contorni sempre piú spaventosi e la trama diventa piú agghiacciante anche perché chiaramente immaginabile e non affatto lontano dalla realtá. Bello e soprattutto necessario per continuare a tenere gli occhi aperti perché queste situazioni non sono sono accadute, ma continuano a succedere e probabilmente non smetteranno.
