A Gambler's Anatomy by Jonathan Lethem

This book is going to be published again with the title "The blot", but I cannot really understand why as it is far from being one of the best books written by Lethem, to be precise I read it because I had to, but I would never read it again. The characters are superficial and it was impossible for me to understand half of the reason why they did something, the other half reason I disagreed with. Only thing that this book left me is the desire to learn Backgammon.

Non capisco il perché, ma tra un paio di settimane questo libro verrá ripubblicato con il titolo "The blot", pur non essendo il migliore tra i libri di Lethem, anzi; per quanto mi riguarda io dovevo leggerlo, ma non lo rifarei mai. I personaggi mi sono sembrati piuttosto superficiali ed é stato impossibile per me capire, almeno la metá delle volte, perché facevano delle cose, quando lo capivo invece, di solito non ero d'accordo. L'unica cosa che mi ha lasciato questo libro, é il desiderio di imparare a giocare a Backgammon.

I liked this graphic novel, even if, from time to time I found it a little bit unsubstantial, but still the illustrations and the whole story was worth a read. Not the best work by Paco Roca anyway.

Questa graphic novel mi é piaciuta, anche se a tratti era assolutamente insignificante, comunque la storia e i disegni la rendono sufficientemente valida, pur senza essere l'opera migliore di Paco Roca.

Very interesting and clearly explained book, even the 4 weeks program seems possible and I would like to try it at last once as I fell in the categories explained by the author.

Libro molto interessante e ben scritto, e anche il programma che dura 4 settimane per riequilibrare il tutto sembra piuttosto fattibile e mi piacerebbe provarlo, considerato che rientro nelle categorie spiegate dall'autrice.

Justice Ascending by Rebecca Zanetti

Sami and Tace are a good couple, but as usual with this series I'm more interested in the subplots about the bunker, the merc, the president and the reverend. A good and fast read that only made me craving for more books of this series. Please Mrs. Zanetti, write faster!

Sami e Tace sono una bella coppia, ma come sempre mi accade con questa serie, mi interessavano molto di piú le sottotrame riguardanti il bunker, i mercenari, il presidente e anche il reverendo. Una lettura rapida e divertente, che mi ha fatto soltanto venire voglia di leggere altri libri di questa serie, quindi magari Sig.ra Zanetti, sarebbe bene che lei scrivesse piú velocemente.

The long story (9 Years) of Valek and Yelena comes to an end (maybe) and it's a really good book in my opinion and the author made a really good job in handling all the characters that appear in the story. Some of them deserve their own book in my opinion and I can always hope.

La lunga storia (ben 9 anni) di Valek e Yelena arriva ad una fine (forse) e lo fa con un bel libro in cui l'autrice riesce a gestire veramente un gran numero di personaggi ed una trama intrigante. Penso che alcuni tra loro avrebbero diritto ad un libro, ma questa é solo la mia opinione e posso solo sperare.

Good book, some informations on the brain, the usual mindfulness and some other insights about emotion, social edonism and drives. Pretty clear and with a lot of tips and suggestions, this book is a little bit different from all the others that have been recently published about, more or less, the same topic. Recommended reading if you are interested about the mechanism behind the most common pulsions.

Bel libro, alcune informazioni sul cervello, la mindfulness (che come al solito non puó mancare) e alcuni insight sulle emozioni, l'edonismo sociale e le pulsioni. Molto chiaro e con molti trucchi e suggerimenti, questo libro si posiziona, secondo me, uno scalino piú in alto di tutti quelli che hanno pubblicato recentemente sull'argomento; lettura obbligata se vi interessano i meccanismi dietro le spinte che guidano gli esseri umani.

As I said before, this is not my cup of tea, and if this possible, the story of Bear was more crazy and violent compared to the one of King.

Wie ich schon sagte, dies ist nicht meine Geschmack, und wenn möglich, die Geschichte von Bear war mehr verrückt und gewalttätig im Vergleich zu dem von King.

Come giá detto, i romance MC non mi piacciono, inoltre questa storia era persino peggiore e piú violenta di quella di King, se possibile.

4 3 2 1 by Paul Auster

Super huge book that could have been a little bit shorter IMHO but still it was a good read. Different stories same characters, a sort of "Sliding doors" on written pages and another clear example of what means being a writer.

Libro veramente gigante che, secondo me, sarebbe potuto essere anche più breve, ma comunque ne é valsa la pena. Storie differenti stessi protagonisti, una specie di "Sliding doors" cartaceo, ma soprattutto un chiaro esempio di cosa significhi essere uno scrittore.
