Che delusione questo ultimo Montalbano, che risolve il delitto per caso ed é il primo a stupirsene, e infatti abbiamo anche lo spiegone finale da un'assassina mai vista per tutto il libro. Un vero peccato, anche perché se il giallo mi fosse piaciuto, avrei potuto continuare a strizzare l'occhio ai "capitoli politici" del libro, anche perché li condivido appieno, ma cosí sembra che abbia dovuto solo riempire il dovuto numero di pagine.....

This is a strange book, with a very unbelievably heroine and a crime to solve, but we are not sure that's the point of the whole book at the beginning. Lupita is a policewoman in Mexico, but she is also an alcoholic and a former mother, still watching the world trough her eyes is interesting and enriching. Laura Esquivel is very good when she has to describe women in my opinion and this one makes a lasting impressions.
Strano libro con un'incredibile (nel senso di poco credibile) eroina che deve risolvere un crimine, ma non siamo sicuri che sia questo l'argomento del libro, almeno all'inizio. Lupita é una poliziotta messicana, ma anche un'alcolista e precedentemente era una madre, ma vedere il mondo attraverso i suoi occhi é un'esperienza indimenticabile. Laura Esquivel, secondo me, é molto brava a descrivere le donne nei suoi libri, e anche questa lascia un'impressione profonda nel lettore, o quanto meno lo ha fatto con me.

As a small town romance it's not that I liked it all that much, as much as the plot with the secret was well thought out, the book and characters were rather repetitive and the two seemed like restless teenagers rather than adults over 30. I don't think I will repeat the experience of reading this author.
Come small town romance non é che mi sia piaciuto poi tanto, per quanto la trama con il segreto era ben pensata, il libro e i personaggi erano piuttosto ripetitivi e i due sembravano adolescenti inquieti piuttosto che adulti con piú di 30 anni. Non credo che ripeteró l'esperienza di leggere questa autrice.

Since this book sounds like a poem in the English translation, I guess it was even better in the original language. Aside from the style, it is peculiar that the topics then treated are really among the most "earthy" and it is perhaps this bipolarity between the topics and the language in which they are treated that captures the protagonist's difficulty in living between two cultures as different as American and Japanese. Beautiful, not easy, but definitely beautiful.
Siccome questo libro sembra una poesia nella traduzione inglese, immagino che in lingua originale sia stato persino migliore. A parte lo stile, é particolare il fatto che gli argomenti poi trattati siano veramente tra i piú "terreni" ed é forse questo bipolarismo tra gli argomenti ed il linguaggio in cui vengono trattati, che riprende la difficoltá della protagonista di vivere tra due culture cosí diverse come quella americana e quella giapponese. Bello, non facile, ma decisamente bello.

I gave up a long time ago trying to understand the too complex plots of Virginia Wolf, so I appreciate her sentences, some of which are unforgettable, and I think about some of the statements that she wrote. It's still a book worth reading.
Ho rinunciato da tempo a seguire le trame troppo complesse di Virginia Wolf, quindi mi limito e leggere le sue frasi, alcune delle quali indimenticabili, e a riflettere su alcune affermazioni che mette in bocca ai suoi personaggi. Resta comunque un libro valido, anche se letto in forma di aforismi.

Ich denke, die Idee des Autors war es ein lustiges Buch zu schreiben, aber es war zu stark fragmentiert und ehrlich gesagt ziemlich traurig, vielleicht bin ich falsch und sie wollte nur ein Bich schreiben.
Credo che l'idea dell'autrice fosse di scrivere un libro divertente, ma era troppo frammentato e francamente parecchio triste, quindi magari mi sbaglio.

The perfect romance book, where everybody's who is nice gets his/her happy ending. The plot has also a couple of twists and the interactions between characters are sometimes hilarious. Summer book for a good couple of days.
Il perfetto romanzo d'amore, dove tutti quelli che se lo meritano ottengono il loro lieto fine. La trama ha anche un paio di situazione che evitano la banalitá e l'essere completamente scontato, che é un rischio che questo tipo di libri puó spesso correre, inoltre i personaggi sono divertenti. Libro estivo per passare un paio di giorni divertenti.

Different book by Nalini Singh, this time there's not a central couple but there are new developments in the general plot, that keep on being the best part, as far as I'm concerned.
We have all together the wolf, the leopard, the sea changeling, the rats, the Psy and the Humans ready for a new turn of event in this great world invented by the author. Plus father Xavier and his Happy Ending. Looking forward to the next book in this series!
Libro diverso questo nuovo volume della serie Psy/changeling, che stavolta non é incentrato su una coppia, ma le ripassa tutte per approfondire i nuovi cambiamenti nella trama generale della serie che sta diventando sempre piú complessa, e la parte migliore dei libri secondo me. Ritroviamo sia i lupi che i felini, i changeling marini, i ratti, gli Psy e gli umani, pronti per i nuovi eventi. Inoltre anche padre Xavier ha il suo lieto fine. Non vedo l'ora di leggere il prossimo libro!

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

I understood the plot almost after half of the book, so it was hard getting to the end of it, I was just wondering how about little Evie, but still. As a reader I'm not so in love with these books that promise such a shocking final that leaves me usually disappointed, it's just that those books are made for people who read a couple of volumes per year and not per week.
A metá del libro avevo capito come sarebbe andato a finire e quindi é stato noioso terminarlo, mi chiedevo solo che fine avrebbe fatto la piccola Evie, ma non é che mi tormentassi piú di tanto. Come lettrice accanita, sono un po' stufa di questi libri che promettono colpi di scena a non finire e che di solito, come "Gone girl" per esempio, sono piuttosto banali e scontati; quindi sono arrivata alla conclusione che vanno bene soltanto per coloro che leggono un paio di libri l'anno e non due a settimana.

The author starts from her autobiography to write about almost everything: from religion to politics, to books and teachers. It was a very interesting reading, but unluckily it was really U.S. centered so from time to time I had to wonder about hymns, and schools and ..... books.
L'autrice parte da spunti autobiografici per scrivere praticamente di ogni cosa: dalla filosofia alla religione, alla politica, ai libri e agli insegnanti. È stata una lettura interessante, peccato che fosse estremamente centrata sulla cultura statunitense, quindi spesso non avevo idea di cosa parlasse, specialmente in riferimento a scuole, inni sacri e....putroppo anche libri.

I stopped "listening" to this books when I read that I can convert all my paper books in byte....I know that less is better and decluttering is good and so on but everybody knows that if it's books it's not hoarding! Everything else I have already managed but still I disagree also in the coffee machine, if you leave far from Italy, Nespresso is the only choice.
Ho smesso di dare retta a questo libro quando ha suggerito che convertire tutti i libri di carta in ebook poteva essere una buona soluzione....va bene che "meno é meglio" e cosí via, ma lo sanno tutti che se sono libri non si puó parlare di accumulo! Per il resto ero piú o meno d'accordo su tutto, ma anche la faccenda di non comprare una macchinetta del caffé non regge, perché se non vivi in Italia la Nespresso é l'unica soluzione.

These three novellas by Enola Holmes in graphic novel form are also really nice. The perfect drawings for a book whose target audience is 10- to 16-year-olds, plus adults like me. With the sixth story then, the main arc that also featured the Holmes brothers' mother comes to an end, and I like the turn the overall story is taking, which has Scherlock and Mycroft much more involved.
Anche queste tre novelle di Enola Holmes in forma di graphic novel sono veramente carine. I disegni perfetti per un libro il cui target sono i ragazzi tra i 10 ed i 16 anni, piú gli adulti come me. Con la sesta storia poi, si conclude l'arc principale che aveva come protagonista anche la mamma dei fratelli Holmes e mi piace la piega che sta prendendo la storia generale, che vede Scherlock e Mycroft molto piú coinvolti.

Interesting reading, even because it gives good examples and easy tips and not crazy ideas, which is something that scares me after reading so many books about dieting and loosing weight.
Lettura interessante, anche perché offre esempi utili e suggerimenti fattibili senza riempire la testa di idee folli, come vi posso assicurare spesso accade, dopo aver letto molti libri sulle diete e sulla perdita di peso.
