Another series came to an end, eventually. Another disillusionment, after 9 books plus novellas and so on, Ragnarok came and that was it. Mah, maybe I also didn't like how the things are between the druid and his apprentice, the only one that got away happy is Owen, but he didn't grow on me on the last books also. I actually think I lost some of my time here.

Un'altra serie giunge alla sua conclusione e dopo 9 libri piú un imprecisato numero di storie piú o meno brevi io sono molto delusa. Tutto questo casino per arrivare al Ragnarok e poi? Un finale triste e senza ragione se posso dire la mia, l'unico che tutto sommato se la cava con poco é Owen, che non é mai stato uno dei miei personaggi preferiti, nemmeno negli ultimi libri. Ho questa brutta sensazione di aver perso tempo a leggere questa serie....

It is not the first book that I read in the genre, so I would say that this is fully integrated in the mainstream: GDR, Stasi and socialism in the 28 year life of the wall. In reality I would be interested to know a little more of the years between the end of the Second World War and the building of the wall, because it is a relatively neglected period in which the number of spies in Berlin was very high.

Non é il primo libro che leggo sul genere, quindi direi che anche questo rientra a pieno titolo nel filone: GDR, Stasi e socialismo nei 28 anni di durata del muro. Attualmente mi sarebbe in realtá interessato sapere un po' di piú degli anni tra la fine della seconda guerra mondiale e la costruzione del muro, perché é un periodo relativamente ignorato nel quale il numero di spie a Berlino era altissimo.

Libro divertente, con un po' di steampunk, un po' di avventura e soprattutto una relazione che ancora non si é consumata (succederá? non succederá?) e quindi fa voglia di proseguire la serie e, nel mio caso, di leggere anche il primo volume.

Very interesting and above all it filled many of the gaps in my history knowledge (due to being European I suppose) about Asia and Africa and what has happened in the last 300 years. A Must Read for all those who have not as clear as we got up to here.

Molto interessante e soprattutto ha colmano moltissime delle mie lacune da "europea" rispetto alla storia dell'Asia/Africa e di quanto avvenuto negli ultimi 300 anni. Da leggere per tutti coloro che non hanno chiaro come siamo arrivati fino a qui.

It is too long in my opinion, I liked the first half but I have to admit that somewhere around page 250 I got lost and I never found the way around the plot again. Siri, Susan and Sarasti are like bazillions characters all together, plus there are the flashbacks in Siri's life, but I couldn't tell the story of this book even if I try. I will settle for something easy like " the revenge of the vampire species".

Decisamente troppo lungo secondo me, la prima metá mi é piaciuta, ma intorno a pagina 250 mi sono persa e non ho piú ritrovato il bandolo della matassa. Siri, Susan e Sarasti sono una marea di personaggi tutti assieme, inoltre ci sono i flashbacks nella vita di Siri e anche se ne andasse della mia vita non sarei in grado di raccontare cosa succede in questo libro, quindi mi accontenteró di un laconico "la vendetta della specie dei vampiri".

Having the opportunity to see (read about) a city that I really like New York (which however I'm not very familiar) change over the centuries through the eyes of famous writers (plus a couple of critics and a songwriter) was really a great opportunity. So I would recommend this book to anyone who loves great literature, walk, and then New York, in that order.

Vedere una cittá che mi piace molto come New York (che peró non conosco molto bene purtroppo) cambiare nei secoli attraverso gli occhi di scrittori famosi (piú un paio di critici e un cantautore) mi é piaciuto molto. Quindi consiglio questo libro a tutti coloro che amano la grande letteratura, camminare e poi New York, in quest'ordine.

Every time time there is a long story that fails, or almost, due to honor problems, the main characters are always Greeks or Italians and I have always found it so funny. This time is not different and we are in Greece. Easy enjoyable reading.

Ogni volta che c'é una love story che potrebbe non trovare il lieto fine per una questione d'onore, i protagonisti sono sempre o greci o italiani e anche stavolta non si scampa. In Grecia un magnate ritrova il figlio che riteneva mai nato.... Facile e piacevole lettura.

I must admit that although I am a big fan of regency romance, this book started on the wrong foot because the reason of James being left by Laurel seemed a pretext so stupid that it ruined the rest of the book for me; I do not want to spoil, but also the reason for getting back together is totally trivial and obvious.

Devo ammettere che nonostante io sia una grande fan dei regency romance, questo é partito con il piede sbagliato perché l'abbanondono di James da parte di Laurel mi é sembrato un pretesto talmente stupido che mi ha rovinato tutto il resto del libro; non voglio spoilerare, ma anche il motivo per tornare assieme é totalmente banale e scontato.
