A Radical Arrangement by Jane Ashford

As a matter of fact this book was absolutely not my cup of tea, even if in the end the story was different from all the others regency love story, I didn't like the characters and the relationship between them.
Devo ammettere che nonostante questo libro fosse diverso dalla solita storia d'amore regency, non mi é piaciuto perché la relazione tra i personaggi era proprio orrida.

The thing that most disturbs me is when a good premise, or at least an interesting premise, is followed by an endless series of sex scenes that cover an obvious lack of plot. Too bad because despite the number of people in bed, the reading was not at all enjoyable in the end...
La cosa che piú mi disturba, é quando ad una buona premessa, o quanto meno ad una premessa interessante, seguono una serie infinita di scene di sesso che coprono una evidente mancanza di trama. Peccato perché nonostante il numero di persone nel letto, il libro non era per niente piacevole alla fine.....

This book was a nice surprise! I read it because NG gave me the ARC of the second one and my OCD pretended that I rad this one before so with no expectations at all I really appreciated the plot and the characters. So now I'm looking forward to read the second installment in this series.
Questo libro è stato una bella sorpresa! L'ho letto soltanto perché NG mi ha mandato il secondo e il mio DOC mi impedisce di leggere una serie se non dall'inizio, quindi senza nessun tipo di aspettativa mi sono goduta una buona trama e dei gran personaggi. Quindi ora non vedo l'ora di leggere il secondo.

As a matter of fact, the part I liked more about this book is the beginning and the author's complying about being Vegan and feeling very bad. As I have a Master in Eating Disorders I study a lot about eating, all this vegan/fructarian stuff made me cry, because this is just a form of orthorexy, which is just another eating disorders. So I appreciate the author coming out of the closet and describing his going back to a "normal" type of eating, with alcohol, coffee and sugar, all in moderation of course.
Devo ammettere che la parte di questo manuale che mi é piaciuta di piú é quella in cui l'autore racconta come dopo anni di alimentazione vegana non si reggeva in piedi. A causa del mio master sui disturbi alimentari ho studiato parecchio l'alimentazione e le diete vegane/fruttariane mi fanno accapponare la pelle perché non sono che una forma di ortoressia e cioè un disturbo alimentare. Quindi ho apprezzato molto il fatto che l'autore abbia avuto il coraggio di ammettere che non aveva funzionato e che era tornato ad un'alimentazione variata e normale, con tanto di alcool, caffè e zucchero, il tutto senza esagerare.

Completely different from the first book, in this second volume of the series appears only the Shadow Master, at least initially. It is instead set in Renaissance Italy and to be precise in a Venice called "The floating city" between gondolas and sea monsters.
Shakespeare and a bit of Homer, although the author cites three sources as ancient Italian writings later used by the Bard, to make us appreciate a story full of twists and magic.
Completamente diverso dal primo libro, in questo secondo volume della serie appare soltanto lo Shadow Master, almeno all'inizio. resta invece ambientato nell'Italia rinascimentale ed in particolare a Venezia tra gondole e mostri marini.
Shakespeare e un po' di Omero, anche se l'autore cita come tre fonti antichi scritti italiani utilizzati poi in seguito dal Bardo, ci fanno apprezzare una storia piena di colpi di scena e magia.

It would be time for the author to decide the direction to be taken in the story between Prudence and Geoffrey, because their behavior, especially when they are together, is becoming particularly annoying and this is not good for the rhythm of the story or the crime they are supposed to solve. I liked the initial stories more and I am not so motivated to continue the series....
Sarebbe ora che l'autrice decidesse la piega da dare alla storia tra Prudence e Geoffrey, perché il loro comportamento, specialmente quando sono insieme, sta diventando particolarmente fastidioso e questo non giova né al ritmo della storia né al crimine che dovrebbero risolvere. Le storie iniziali mi piacevano di piú e non sono poi così tanto motivata a proseguire la serie....

I have to admit that the triangle Adam, Rosalind, Devon has me a bit bored, especially because the author takes the story in one direction and then abruptly change it again, so from a certain point of view I felt cheated. The mystery of William's death, however, I liked it a lot and I had not even remotely imagined the solution.
Devo ammettere che il triangolo Adam, Rosalind, Devon mi ha un po' stufato, soprattutto perché l'autrice porta la storia in una direzione e poi bruscamente ci ripensa, quindi da un certo punto di vista mi sono sentita imbrogliata. Il mistero della morte di William invece, mi é piaciuto parecchio e non avevo nemmeno lontanamente immaginato la soluzione.
