Jill Shalvis outdoes herself in this book where there is room for all the topics of her books: the big family that forgives you everything, the children who instead are left to their own devices and run away from home, the alpha male who falls in love while remaining convinced that he cannot, and pets (or not) etc.etc.
Obviously as a longtime reader of this author, I was well pleased and enjoyed it.

Jill Shalvis si supera in questo libro dove c'é spazio per tutti gli argomenti dei suoi libri: la famiglia grande che ti perdona tutto, i figli che invece sono abbandonati a se stessi e scappano di casa, il maschio alfa che s'innamora pur restando convinto che non lo puó fare, e gli animali domestici (o meno) etc.etc.
Ovviamente da lettrice di lunga data di questa autrice, ero ben contenta e mi sono divertita.

Non dev'essere stato facile scrivere un libro del genere, in cui la tristezza è abbissale, senza scendere nel pietismo o nella compassione. Fabio Geda c'è riuscito.

RILETTO IN OCCASIONE DEL GDL IN INGLESE: che bello che sia piaciuto praticamente a tutti e che tutti lo consiglierebbero, anche perché viviamo in un periodo storico in cui, a dare retta ai mass media, sembra che i poveri rifugiati non vedano l'ora di uccidere tutti noi europei, come se non avessero niente da fare che scappare dall'ISIS per diventare terroristi. C'é bisogno di un po' di fede nell'umanitá, anche se a volta non se la merita.

Divertente e leggero e se non fossi italiana, magari anche utile, ma é necessario essere davvero dei principianti assoluti ai fornelli per trovare affascinante questo volume ;)

Dieses Buch hat mir sehr gefällt, mit Ausnahme des letzten Kapitel, die mich sehr verwirrt verlassen hat, aber das hat mich am mindestens 5 oder 6 besseren Finale gedacht. Schade, weil der Autor mit seiner Schreiben sehr traumhaft mir sehr gut scheint für das Geschickt . Allerdings würde ich es empfehlen, da es lohnt sich.

Questo libro mi é piaciuto molto, con l'esclusione del finale, che mi ha lasciato molto interdetta, ma che mi ha fatto venire in mente almeno 5 o 6 finali migliori. Un vero peccato perché l'autore ha reso con la sua scrittura il libro molto onirico e piacevole. Comunque mi sento di consigliarlo perché vale la pena.

As much as I think it is important to talk about situations like chronic pain or stalkers, sometimes I would like certain topics to be put into a story that makes sense. Instead, here we have a plot that doesn't stand up and a kind of sudden love of a guy who could have anyone and instead falls in love with a hysterical girl I couldn't stand either. It's fine that love is blind but let's not go overboard.....

Per quanto io ritenga importante parlare di situazioni come il dolore cronico o gli stalker, a volte mi piacerebbe che certi argomenti fossero inseriti in una storia che abbia un senso. Qui invece abbiamo una trama che non sta in piedi e una sorta di amore improvviso di un ragazzo che potrebbe avere chiunque e che invece si innamora di una ragazza isterica che non sopportavo nemmeno io. Va bene che l'amore é cieco ma non esageriamo.....

I can imagine that this novel is a metaphor of Jesus' life and so are Simòn and Inés some sort of new Joseph and Mary looking for a new life in a new world with "their" special kid; still it was soo slow that it was a struggle for me to get to the end, and I did it only because Netgalley sent me the sequel to review, which I'm not looking forward to read, but maybe I am wrong.

Posso immaginare che questo romanzo sia una metafora della vita di Gesú, cosí come Simòn d Inés siano dei nuovi Giuseppe e Maria, genitori putativi di questo bambino speciale con il quale cercano di trovare una nuova vita; ciononostante é stato un libro lento e pesante, a cui sono arrivata in fondo solo perché ora netgalley mi ha mandato il seguito da recensire, il che non mi riempie di gioia, ma magari mi sbaglio.

Attraverso un'intervista tesa piú a chiarire che ad illustrare, uno storico ed un islamista si interrogano sul corano, sulle varie e possibili spiegazioni e su come possa essere la ragione delle attuali divisioni tra i mussulmani e la base di una follia come l'ISIS.
