This book is a celebration of standard femininity, to understand it, it's all pink and frills, and so I loved it. It also celebrates a certain kind of friendship between women, the kind accompanied by a certain amount of alcohol, and it's a mix of creative crafts, not always too challenging and some recipes whose results could be more beautiful than good.
Questo libro é una celebrazione della femminilitá standard, per capirsi, é tutto rosa e fronzoli e quindi io l'ho adorato. Celebra inoltre un certo tipo di amicizia tra donne, quello accompagnato da una certe dose di alcol, ed é un mix di lavoretti creativi, non sempre troppo impegnativi ed alcune ricette i cui risultati potrebbero essere piú belli che buoni.

Maugham is one of my favorite writer ever, even if sometimes, like in this novel for example, the beginning is terribly slow. But ok, it gets better and better till the end (?).
Maugham é da sempre uno dei miei scrittori preferiti, anche quando, come in questo libro per esempio, parte talmente lento che quasi mi perde per strada. Ma ok, poi la storia migliora e straborda nel finale (?).

Non l'ho finito, non ho abbastanza fiducia negli autori per mettermi ad esplorare eventuali mie vite passate, delle quali, tutto sommato, non mi interessa che ho giá abbastanza da fare in questa. Comunque ho intenzione di considerare il mio bisogno di imparare il tedesco come una punizione del dharma.

It was interesting, mostly because I read it as somebody who is not interested in writing a book, but more in how everybody else is doing it. The author was clear and she gave a lot of examples as well as exercises, so it's worth the time.
E` stato interessante da leggere, anche se io non l'ho fatto per scrivere un libro, quanto piuttosto per capire come fanno tutti gli altri a farlo. L'autrice é molto chiara, fornisce molti esempi e ci sono anche gli esercizi, quindi direi che vale la pena leggerlo.

It took me a lot of time to finish this pointless boring book, another cliffhanger in the end, but I'm not sure this is going to help me to pick up the next book. I'm sorry anyway because I was so in love for the first 5 books with Mac and Barrons but not anymore, they seem so petty. Ryodan, Dani/Jada and all the others I just can't stand.
Ho impiegato un mese per finire questo libro noioso e senza senzo, che non finisce, ma non credo che sia sufficiente questo per farmi leggere il prossimo. Comunque mi dispiace perché dei primi 5 libri ero proprio innamorata, cosí come di Barrons e Mac, che ora sembrano cosí stupidi. Di Ryodan, Dani/Jada e tutti gli altri, é meglio che non parli perché non si reggono proprio.

Anche questa é una raccolta di saggi piuttosto attuale, dedicata allo studio della letteratura comparata e dei vari metodi che si sono susseguiti nel corso degli anni. Il saggio piú interessante, per quanto mi riguarda, é stato quello di Pierre Brunel dedicata al ciclo delle Lezioni Americane di Italo Calvino e che si intitola "La sesta lezione". [La sesta lezione é infatta quella che non fu mai fatta a causa della morte dell'autore stesso].

I was disappointed by this book mostly because there was not a real story to talk of, most of the times the characters were lost in their thoughts, always ruminating about their worries and fear. So I found it boring.
La cosa che piú mi ha deluso di questo libro é che non ci fosse una trama consistente, la maggior parte del tempo i personaggi ripensavano e ruminavano sulle loro paure piuttosto che agire e combinare qualcosa, quindi l'ho trovato parecchio noioso.

L'histoire de Josy et Christine m'a profondément touchée. Non seulement il est bien dessiné, mais il raconte aussi une histoire particulièrement réelle qui m'a également laissé beaucoup de tristesse. Parfois, je me demande s'il y a jamais eu quelqu'un de vraiment libre dans ce monde et s'il n'a jamais été considéré, au final, comme un simple fou.
La storia di Josy e di Christine mi ha colpito profondamente. Non solo é ben disegnata ma racconta anche di una storia particolarmente reale e che mi ha lasciato anche un sacco di tristezza. A volte mi chiedo se ci sia mai stato qualcuno veramente libero in questo mondo e se non sia mai stato poi, alla fine, considerato soltanto un pazzo.

Lettura interessante anche se a volte ripetitiva. Il canone di Bloom prevede di paragonare tutti gli autori che sono venuti dopo a Shakespeare, magari anche a Dante, ma soprattutto al Bardo, chiaro che a lungo andare le cose da dire a riguardo ai paragoni si esauriscono.
