I am not sure that I believe the explanations of the author for every single disease, but some insights are useful anyway and I can always mix it with "regular medicine".
Non sono sicura di condividere le spiegazioni dell'autore per ogni singola malattia, ma quel che é sicuro per quanto mi riguarda, é che alcuni insight mi sono stati particolarmente utili e posso sempre "mischiarli" con la "medicina regolare".

I knew the "final" story in which her husband (a widower) got together with the wife (a widow) of the writer Paul Kalanithi, so it seemed only right to read this book as well after reading "When breath became air".
Nina was truly an amazing woman, but now I'm going to need at least a dozen romance books to recover from all this grief, as exemplary as it was handled.
Conoscevo la storia "finale", nella quale il marito di lei (vedovo) si metteva assieme alla moglie (vedova) dello scrittore Paul Kalanithi, quindi mi sembrava giusto leggere anche questo libro dopo aver letto When breath become air.
Nina era veramente una donna straordinaria, ma ora mi serviranno almeno una decina di libri d'amore per riprendermi da tutto questo dolore, per quanto sia stato affrontato in modo esemplare.

Dunque, sono quasi arrivata al numero 8 che sarebbe attualmente, l'ultimo volume di questa serie fino ad ora, e spero di riuscire ad avere qualche risposta nel frattempo; intanto un sacco di situazioni stanno andando avanti e sto aspettando di sapere come andrá a finire....

Questo quinto volume é stato veramente divertente, me lo sono letto una sera dall'inizio alla fine e più di una volta sono scoppiata a ridere da sola quindi direi che a questo punto ho scongiurato ogni possibilità di smettere con questa serie, specialmente a causa dell'ultima domanda....

The first part of the book was more than enough and I hate to say that considering the following 500 pages. In the first part we have a clear and precise description of the seven basic plots we can then find in all the stories in the world, in the mean time, in the parts of the book that follow, these various plots, crossing each other, overlapping and with possibly every possible change, are treated individually with examples from famous books. The first part interested me a lot, the second bored me.
La prima parte del libro era più che sufficiente, mi dispiace dirlo così considerato che seguono altre 500 pagine. Nella prima parte abbiamo una chiara e puntuale descrizione delle sette trame fondamentali che possiamo poi ritrovare in tutte le storie del mondo, nelle parti del libro che seguono, queste varie trame, incrociate tra loro, sovrapposte, con eventualmente ogni modifica possibile, vengono trattate singolarmente con esempi tratti da libri famosi. La prima parte mi ha interessato moltissimo, la seconda, a lungo andare, mi ha annoiato.

Finally a book that lifts my expectations for this series and gives me hope for the future. The usual plot changes, at least a little bit, and we have a long conversation with a lot of love and, especially this time, there are not so many people out there, who want Charley dead and this gives me hope for the future.
Finalmente un libro che risolleva le sorti della serie e mi fa ben sperare per il futuro. La solita trama cambia, almeno un pochino, e abbiamo una lunga conversazione con tanto di amplesso finale e soprattutto stavolta non sono in tanti a volere la pelle di Charley e questo mi fa ben sperare per il futuro.

È probabile che ad un profondo conoscitore delle regole del Go, questo libro sarebbe sembrato bellissimo, invece a ulteriore riprova del talento di Kawabata, è piaciuto anche a me senza conoscere nemmeno una regola, anche perché le spiegazioni del gioco erano in fondo al libro, e quindi le ho lette per ultime. Quindi se vi capita l'edizione Einaudi non fate come me, prima leggetevi le regole e poi godetevi il libro.

I'm a little bit tired of the plot "all the world against the grim reaper", I would have liked something different this time, or even a bit more of talking with the son of satan wouldn't have been bad at all. I really hope for the best because I'm going to read the forth one but I'm not sure I'll go further.
Sono un po' stanca della solita trama che prevede "tutto il mondo contro la nostra eroina", mi sarebbe piaciuto qualcosa di diversa stavolta, o anche un po' piú di dialogo tra Charly e il figlio di satana, che non avrebbe per niente guastato. Spero davvero che il quarto risollevi le sorti di questa saga, altrimenti non credo che andrò avanti ad oltranza....

La storia di Kukiji e delle sue donne, che prima di essere sue erano del padre, é molto bella, anche se parecchio inquietante. Come al solito Kawabata riesce a rendere con le sue parole sempre molto misurate, anche situazioni parecchio scabrose senza che queste diventino, per certi versi, fastidiose.

The best thing about this book is definitely the plot, finally no blushing virgin and no rogue to be redeemed, eventually! Caro and John definitely start on the wrong foot in their marriage, and we find them almost five years later, when for reasons beyond their will they are forced to pretend to have a great marriage. Their interactions I usually liked, but sometimes I found them a bit repetitive, mostly because she was a pathological liar and he did not know what to think. All in all a good book.
La cosa migliore di questo libro é sicuramente la trama, finalmente nessuna timida vergine e nessuno scapolo redento, era ora! Caro e John partono decisamente con il piede sbagliato nel loro matrimonio e li ritroviamo praticamente 5 anni dopo, quando per cause di forza maggiore sono costretti a fare finta di avere un ottimo matrimonio. Le loro interazioni mi sono piaciute, ma a volte le ho trovate un pochino ripetitive, sia perché lei era patologicamente bugiarda, sia perché lui non sapeva più cosa pensare. Tutto sommato un buon libro.

I racconti solitamente mi piacciono meno dei romanzi, ma in questo caso un paio dei cinque presentati in questa raccolta, tra cui "Immagini di cristallo" che dà appunto il titolo al volume, sono veramente molto belli. In verità meriterebbero una stella in più, ma alcune parole mi hanno dato un certo fastidio fisico, quindi non me la sono sentita.....

Dieses Buch ist sehr schön. Es kann von verlassene Orte, als ob sie waren wunderschön und, mit den Augen der Hauptfigur zu sagen, sie wirklich sind. Schade, dass die Geschichte ist traurig, und wahrscheinlich sehr wahr.
This book is beautiful. It describes desolate places as if they were beautiful and, with the eyes of the main character, they really are. Too bad the story is sad and probably very true.
Questo libro é molto bello. Riesce a raccontare di posti desolati come se fossero bellissimi e, con gli occhi del protagonista, lo sono davvero. Peccato che la storia è tristissima e probabilmente molto vera.
