Lustig aber sauer süß. Das Problem ist aber, dass nach zehn Tagen kann ich überhaupt nicht daran erinnern, was ich gelesen habe, so würde ich sagen, dass es zumindest ein wenig zu hell ist.
Divertente anche se dolce amaro; purtroppo peró, dopo solo 10 giorni non ricordo assolutamente cosa ho letto, quindi direi che la storia é piuttosto leggerina....

Such a great book! I had no idea that the anti slavery movement in U.S. was mixed with the beginning of the feminist movement, and there are also many things more I learned about that period. I liked the characters and knowing there were based on real people made the book better for me.
Bel libro davvero! Non avevo idea che all'inizio il movimento contro la schiavitú negli Stati Uniti si fosse mischiato con i primi movimenti femministi e ho anche imparato altre cose su quel periodo. I personaggi mi sono piaciuti molto, soprattutto perché basati su persone realmente esistiti.

I liked this book, even if I think the first one was slightly better, but still the tension is high and the background (post apocalyptic, crazy zombies, psychopathic presidents) is super good. The characters were nice but I keep on reading mostly for the whole story behind them and their classic love story. One of the best moment of R.Zanetti as far as I'm concerned.
Mi é piaciuto questo secondo volume della serie, anche se continuo a pensare che il primo fosse leggermente meglio, comunque la tensione resta alta e lo sfondo delle storie (post apocalisse, zombi impazziti e presidenti psicopatici) è veramente figo. I protagonisti non sono male ma la ragione per continuare a leggere é proprio la storia nella sua interezza a prescindere dalle storie d'amore che si susseguono ad ogni volume. Uno dei migliori libri della Zanetti secondo me.

More than a book about love, this is a book about relationships, basically friendships. Harriett and Wyn have a beautiful romance until they don't anymore. Their friends are tied to the past and struggle to find each other in the present. I like how the author managed to tell the story with the many flashbacks without driving me crazy and managing to give a style to each of the six key characters, but by the end I was a little tried by the weight of the plot.
Piú che un libro d'amore, questo é un libro sulle relazione, fondamentalmente quelle amicali. Harriett e Wyn hanno una bella storia d'amore fino a quando non ce l'hanno piú. I loro amici sono legati al passato e faticano a trovarsi nel presente. Mi piace come l'autrice sia riuscita a raccontare la storia con i tanti flashback senza farmi impazzire e riuscendo a dare uno stile a ciascuno dei sei personaggi fondamentali, ma alla fine ero un po' provata dalla pesantezza della trama.

I like these books halfway between good feelings, self-help and home decor. They are good for the mood and, if I were also a do-it-yourselfer, good for the home. The photos are nice and the explanations clear, of course the house always the same and also the furniture, but it is like that in real life too.
Mi piacciono questi libri a metá tra buoni sentimenti, self-help e arredamento. Fanno bene all'umore e, se fossi anche una persona che ama il fai da te, anche alla casa. Le foto sono carine e le spiegazioni chiare, certo la casa sempre la stessa e anche i mobili, ma é cosí anche nella vita reale.

I didn't like this penultimate volume of the series at all, and in fact I don't even know if I will read the one about Hannah. Trivial characters, ridiculous story, in short, meh, and to think that I liked these four brothers of the apocalypse quite a lot at the beginning....
Questo penultimo volume della serie non mi é piaciuto per niente e infatti non so nemmeno se leggerò quello su Hannah. Personaggi banali, storia ridicola, insomma, boh, e pensare che questi quattro fratelli dell'apocalisse all'inizio mi piacevano parecchio....

I am happy I eventually finished this series because I realized that I don't like books about outlaws and so on, when somebody is mean, is mean in my opinion.
Sono contenta di aver finito questa serie, perché tutto sommato ho capito che in definitiva ai libri sui cattivi che poi sono tanto innamorati io non ci credo per niente, quando uno é cattivo é cattivo e basta.

This latest book by G.Rubin focuses on our five senses. Starting with a little psychology of perception and enriching it with the Mindfulness that never goes out of fashion, the author churns out another book that is perfect for being mildly interesting without becoming difficult. Clearly this is my opinion and is based on the fact that, personally, I was already doing several things suggested by the author, for different reasons though. For example she leads us to be attentive to colors, sensations, smells, sounds etc. all to be more present and sharpen our view of the world, to perceive the whole 360°. In my case, on the other hand, it is more of a way to accumulate memories of perfect moments, which the more detailed they are, the more they will remain forever.
Questo ultimo libro di G.Rubin si focalizza sui nostri cinque sensi. Partendo da un po' di psicologia della percezione ed arricchendo il tutto con la Mindfulness che non passa mai di moda, l'autrice sforna un altro libro perfetto per il suo essere leggermente interessante, senza diventare difficile. Chiaramente questa é la mia opinione e si basa sul fatto che, personalmente, facevo giá parecchie cose suggerite dall'autrice, per ragioni diverse peró. Per esempio lei ci porta ad essere attenti a colori, sensazioni, odori, suoni etc. il tutto per essere piú presenti ed affinare la nostra visione del mondo, per percepire il tutto a 360°. Nel mio caso invece, si tratta piú di un modo per accumulare memorie di momenti perfetti, che piú sono dettagliati, piú resteranno per sempre.

Un libro che si regge fondamentalmente sulla figura di Balistrieri perché la trama non è proprio fantastica. Resta comunque un bel giallo e per fortuna non riprende i temi della trilogia che va lasciata perdere per evitare di rovinarla.

Perhaps over time Yoshua had softened and certainly as far as I was concerned had also become easier to read, despite and even this time the themes he deals with are always very "heavy." Maybe it's because the main character is a 12-year-old girl and maybe it's because the Italian setting made it more immediate for me, this book was perhaps my favorite of his.
Forse con il tempo Yoshua si era ammorbidito e sicuramente per quanto mi riguarda era anche diventato piú semplice da leggere, nonostante e anche stavolta i temi che tratta sono sempre molto "pesanti". Magari sará perché la protagonista é una ragazzina di 12 anni e magari perché il setting italiano me lo ha reso piú immediato, questo libro é stato forse il mio preferito tra i suoi.

Curious Minds (Knight and Moon, #1) by Janet Evanovich, Phoef Sutton

Emerson and Riley are two perfect Evanovich characters and they work, but sometimes the author goes a little bit too far and they are not so funny anymore, just extreme. The plot is interesting enough anyway, but I'm still thinking if I really need to follow another endless series....
Emerson e Riley sono due personaggi tipici della Evanovich e funzionano anche abbastanza bene assieme, ma a volte l'autrice (o chi per lei) esagera e smettono di essere divertenti e diventano forzati. La trama comunque era interessante, ma sto ancora considerando seriamente se ho veramente bisogno di seguire un'ennesima altra serie che si prospetta infinita.
