The history of "madness" with particular attention to delusions. Everything starts from patients who develop the " Truman Show syndrome", id est those who believe that their life is not real, but part of a drama and then taken by the cameras 24 hours a 24, an interesting name for one of the infinite variations of paranoid psychosis. Through the stories, which sometimes seem surreal if they were not sad, the authors illustrate the various paths that lead to delusion and suspicion as the modern context facilitates everything. In all this, biological psychiatry could help to lend a hand and also use the context as a part to be changed to facilitate the healing of the client, or at least make some symptoms more tolerable in order to enable him/her to live a proper life.
La storia della "pazzia" con particolare attenzione alle illusioni. Tutto parte dai pazienti che sviluppano "la sindrome del Truman Show", quelli cioè che ritengono che la loro vita non sia reale, ma faccia parte di uno sceneggiato e quindi ripresa dalle telecamere 24 ore su 24, un nome interessante per una delle infinite variazioni della psicosi paranoica. Attraverso le storie, che a volte sembrano anche surreali se non fossero tristissime, di alcuni pazienti, i due autori illustrano le varie strade che portano dal sospetto all'illusione e come il moderno contesto faciliti il tutto. In tutto questo la psichiatria biologica potrebbe aiutare a dare una mano e utilizzare anche il contesto come parte da modificare per facilitare la guarigione del cliente, o quanto meno rendere alcuni sintomi piú tollerabili in modo da permettergli di vivere una vita adeguata.
