This book deserves three stars only because it allowed me to discover an aspect of World War II, the neutrality of Turkey, that I ignored. It's not that the plot wasn´t interesting, but the final result is a bit boring and there is also to say that the Turks are almost portrayed as superheroes while the Jews as the poor creatures to save, not to mention all the wickedness of the other. The characters seemed to me in some cases stereotyped and in others lacked depth.
Questo libro merita tre stelle soltanto perché mi ha permesso di scoprire un aspetto della seconda guerra mondiale, la neutralitá della Turchia, che ignoravo in toto. Non che la trama non fosse interessante, ma alla fine il risultato é un po' noioso e c'é anche da dire che i turchi sono quasi dipinti come supereroi mentre gli ebrei come delle povere creature da salvare, senza contare la cattiveria di tutto gli altri. I personaggi mi sono sembrati in alcuni casi stereotipati e in altri mancavano di profonditá.
