I liked this book and I found it very similar to "White teeth" by Zadie Smith and some other books that talk about the struggling of the immigrants to stay loyal to their roots while trying to integrate in the new society they live in. What was disturbing were my thoughts at the end of the story, as it seems that men have only honor and women only shame.
Mi è piaciuto questo libro e l'ho trovato parecchio simile a "Denti bianchi" di Zadie Smith e ad altri libri che descrivono la battaglia interiore degi migranti che lottano per rimanere fedeli alle loro radici e contemporaneamente cercare di integrarsi nella nuova società di cui fanno parte. La cosa più disturbante sono stati i miei pensieri rispetto al fatto che come recita l'adagio: gli uomini hanno solo l'onore e le donne solo la vergogna.
