I read this book because on the blog of the feminist romance it was signaled of one of "the good" books. It probably is, I cannot really judge, but for me was a little bit boring and Alex was so full of doubts that in the end I couldn't stand all his coming and going anymore.

Ho letto questo libro perché era segnalato sul blog dei romanzi rosi femministi. Probabilmente lo é anche se io non sono in grado di giudicarlo, so solo che con Alex che veniva e andava e ci ripensava in continuazione, alla fine il mio sentimento predominante era la noia.

Non sapevo nulla di Saverio Tommasi prima di leggere questo libro, che nel suo piccolo ha l'aspetto di una raccolta di post di facebook e forse, in un certo senso lo é anche. Tendenzialmente é una lettera alle figlie, una delle quali ha una malattia rara, ma in fondo é anche una piccola raccolta di banalitá come quando gli americano pubblicano "chicken soup for the soul" e per quanto scontate, ci sono cose che ti rendono ancora felice di fare parte della razza umana.

Amanda Quick is one of my favorite writer of mystery romance and I liked also the Victorian setting, there are two main good characters and the plot has a good development even if I disagree sometimes with some of the things Lucas said to Victoria, but ok.

Amanda quick é sempre stata una delle mie scrittrici preferite, a prescindere dall'alias che utilizza, e mi é piaciuto anche questo mystery romance ambientato in epoca vittoriana. I due personaggi principali sono ben caratterizzati e la trama si sviluppa in modo lineare fino alla sorpresa finale, non sono sempre d'accordo con alcune delle cose che Lucas dice a Victoria, ma fa lo stesso.

This book is written in a complicated and fragmented way, but I think this is done on purpose by the author because what happened in Egypt, or what we hink happened in Egypt in 2011, or the author point of view of what happened in Cairo since October 2011, is fragmented, not clear, confused but mostly it didn't work. A very sad view on a revolution that hadn't the results, or maybe it had, that most of the young people living in Cairo desired, the same the died, mostly and sadly.

Questo libro é scritto in modo difficile, anche se cronologicamente in ordine le sequenze sono frammentarie e raccontate da diversi punti di vista, ma credo l'autore l'abbia fatto con lo scopo di rendere in modo scritto il fatto che quello accaduto in Egitto, e per essere precisi al Cairo, a partire dall'ottobre 2011 é stata una rivoluzione che non ha dato (o magari sí) i risultati sperati. Un punto di vista estremamente triste che racconta come i giovani del Cairo non siano riusciti che a morire in quella fallita sollevazione popolare.

As usual my first point is that I don't like short stories so much, but as Eugenides is one of my favorite author I was going to read them anyway. Some are really very good, bittersweet, and some totally bitter, but in each of them there is something that make you remember that as if it was a book in itself and not some pages in a collection, I guess this is the reason why he is such a good author.

Non mi piacciono le storie, preferisco di gran lunga i romanzi, ma siccome questo é Eugenides, andava letto comunque. Molte storie sono agrodolci, altre semplicemente amare, ma é facile ricordare ognuna a se stante e non come parte di una collezione, perché hanno un forte impatto. Immagino questa sia la ragione per la quale l'autore é considerato un grande.

I was almost moved reading this ending all about Lynn and Burt (in Italy). Once again Ken sacrifices himself for the sake of someone else. This is what I write, but sometimes I also think Ken is the king of misogynists and afraid of relationships, but okay, he certainly wouldn't be the first.

Mi sono quasi commossa leggento questo finale tutto dedicato a quelli che in Italia erano Lynn e Burt. Ancora una volta Ken sacrifica se stesso per il bene di qualcun altro. Questo é quello che scrivo, ma a volte penso anche che Ken sia il re dei misogini e che abbia paura delle relazioni, ma ok, non sarebbe certo il primo.

C'é qualcosa in questo libro di A.E. che in qualche modo stona con l'idea che attraverso i libri precedenti mi ero costruita di lei. Sicuramente ha ragione lei, voglio dire considerato che é la sua storia quella che sta scrivendo, ma in qualche modo qualcosa di fondo é stonato e non mi torna.

I liked this comic a lot in a sort of unexpected way, even if it is usually not my cup of tea. The story was linear and enjoyable and the illustrations were appropriated. Recommendable.

Diamonds Book mi ha mandato per caso questo fumetto ed in modo altrettanto inaspettato a me é piaciuto parecchio, anche se questo genere di solito non mi fa impazzire. La storia era lineare ed i disegni quelli giusti per raccontarla. Da leggere!
