I expected a series of essays, while this is essentially the autobiography of the author, born and raised in Akron, Ohio, the capital of the rust belt, to be distinguished from the bible belt. Anyway it remains a fascinating book: trough music, basketball and bowling, life seems to stop during the 80s in a city that was affected by the U.S. crisis, of course, but up to a certain point.
Io mi aspettavo una serie di saggi, mentre questa é essenzialmente l'autobiografia dell'autore, nato e cresciuto ad Akron, Ohio, capitale della rust belt, per distinguerla dalla bible belt. Resta comunque un libro affascinante, tra musica, basket e bowling, la vita che sembra ferma agli anni '80 di una cittá che ha risentito della crisi americana, certo, ma fino ad un certo punto.
